This is my second buy as header heat wrap on my motorcycle. The first brand was thin and quickly shredded. Design Engineering has a much thicker, better product. I am very pleased with the result. It has held up really well so far with a stint in the California desert without any issues.

I used this on the new GrimmSpeed V2 jpipe / downpipe for my 2017 WRX. It is a bit trickier to use then it appears as the material has a bad tendency of unraveling while you try to use it and mine later seemed a bit "frayed" with little bits of the material sticking up. Not a big deal as it will be well out of sight and seems to be doing it's job well enough to keep temperatures down in my engine bay. Do not use metal zip ties. I found that they were virtually useless even with the specialized DEI ratchet tool or needle nose pliers. Do yourself a favor and buy the metal wormgear clamps from the local hardware store. Much easier to install and provides a tight secure fit for the wrap. The titanium wrap does not necessarily need to have their high temperature silicone spray to keep it water resistant but I opted to use it anyway to be on the safe side. I did several light to medium coats and used about 3/4 of the DEI spray can. Hopefully it will last. ... show more

Used on my predator 212 and it helps keep the heat off my legs while riding, doesn't burn the crap out of me if I accidentally do touch it. Oh, I didn't wear gloves installing this stuff and my hands never itched so it's not fiberglass for sure! Zip ties will cut the crap out of you though, be careful. Get some clamps too ... show more

    • No more burned plug wires on my 5.3

Great product for my 5.3 Silverado (2005). After rebuilding the motor and throwing on some headers, I was burning through my plug wires. I was running performance wires (in heat socks) but still didn't help much as the wire causing the issue couldn't be kept far enough away from the header. That's where this came in!. I ended up wrapping the plug wire itself with this as well as the header, using the provided metal zip ties on the wire, and running hose clamps on the header. Nothing against the provided ties, just needed more than 4. I bought the hi-temp silicone paint and allowed for it to get hot and seasoned (the smell is pretty bad too, but only lasted roughly 30 mins). Overall, great product, just wish I would have known the Titanium version of this wrap doesn't require the silicone paint. ... show more
