Well, I read a ton of reviews for this product before purchasing it, and the comments ranged from love it to hate it. But here is my story - first, I am 58, and while I had great looking legs in my early years, I developed a skin condition (I can't spell it and won't even try) which has left my legs spotted and blotchy. I am also fair skinned, and still get a spray tan in the summer to give me some color. However, that only makes the spots on my legs darker and more noticeable. It's really ugly and I hate it, so I avoid shorts. But in the hot 100 degree Southern heat, those are hard to avoid. SO I figured I should at least try this product. I did not have high hopes. Long story short - yes, this is a make-up coverage, it does not claim to be a sun tan product. If you apply it lightly, as it recommends, it has definitely helped the appearance of my legs to the point I have started wearing dresses and shorts, which is wonderful! It does not cover all my spots, but I did not expect it to, as I have so many and they are prominent. But it covers the spots enough that I am comfortable showing my legs. Yes, the make up will and can come off if you don't allow it to dry, which can take a couple of hours. And yes, it will come off on your clothes to some degree, just like normal make up will do - but no big deal, it washes off. But it's not a big problem. Small price to pay for being able to wear shorts again. I find the make up lasts a good two days for me, even with a shower or two. I don't scrub my legs in the shower, so it stays on. But after that, it will wear off, just like make up. I do recommend this product, and hope anyone interested will at least try it. I was skeptical about this but it actually worked out. One can never be perfectly sure about the shade so I took a chance... it workd out but I may get the next shade to see the difference. it does cover enough spider veins that I can see the difference, plus it gives the extra "perfect" look so I'm happy with this purchase. So I thought I looked somewhat orange but everyone else said it was fine. Pictures showed up fine as well with no noticeable traits of makeup - except on my dress. Maybe I should have let it set for an hour but I don’t think it would matter much. It was all over the sheets in the morning but ironically not always transferring or easy to take off. Oh and the process to put on takes a while too. Spread, bake, blend, bake, set. Took about a half hour and some help. It did what I needed it to do for the wedding, spots didn’t totally disappear, even with their stick concealer BUT you couldn’t see them outright so I guess it did its job. Will I use it again, yea but only for something as important as this and not for an average event. Totally not worth the hassle. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised that this worked so well to cover some old poison oak scars. If you look closely, yeah, you can tell its make up but from someone else's perspective, it actually looks nice. Even one layer smoothed out a lot of the imperfections in my old legs. Applying more layers hides more and really doesnt look cakey like I thought it might. When I first put it on, I thought maybe the color was too light or didnt have the right undertone but once it dried, it matched a lot better. I definitely suggest smoothing out the edges very well, even if you have to apply more or to a larger area. Just a thin layer around the edges blended out makes it look more natural when using for a small area instead of like your whole leg or arm. I would also suggest getting the setting powder. Took me a few tries to figure that stuff out but I got it. The product lasted for over 24 hours and did not smudge on my clothes or anywhere else I could see. It was a bit hard to get off of my hands but thats probably because its waterproof and regular soap doesnt seem to cut through it too easily. After about 3-4 handwashings, it came off. Overall, I would recommend it for covering scars, even darkened ones. I did try it over a tattoo but it would probably take several layers to cover so I didnt bother. I had high hopes for this product and maybe I should have known it was going to rub off on everything I came near. I let it sit for almost 45 min after applying to my legs, feet, arms, shoulders, chest, etc. I didn't use an applicator, just my hands and I had a hard time trying to get the foundation off my hands. So that's why I thought once dry, it would stay. Some of it did, but some did not. And I didn't get quite the natural look I thought I would. The color match was pretty close. ... show more

I have vitligo on my hands and also show jewelry on a daily basis..........sometimes customers looked at my hands and criinged and i was very embarrassed. Then i tried Dermablend. I was skeptical at first........but the results were amazing and my embarrassment was over. I highly recommend this product for anyone who is embarrassed by their skin condition........i applies easily. stays on all day and doesnt wash off until you want it too......and u dont need a lot to work effectively..........i was lucky that the color i chose was spot on with my skin tone. ... show more

Dermablend foundation did not work for me, even when I followed modified instructions on the internet. It was hard to find a color that matched, it didn't cover my ink, and even after several applications (and waiting tons for it to try), my skin absorbed it and my ink showed. WHAT WORKED FOR ME: I used drug store makeup and the Dermablend setting powder. Here's what I did: I bought a salmon/pink e.l.f. Lip liner and covered my tattoo with it (wait ~3 mins), then I used Maybelline master conceal camouflaging concealer (one coat; wait for it to dry), then used Boots Nº. 7 Stay Perfect Foundation (one coat; wait for it to try), and set with Dermablend setting powder. Final touch was the liquid bandaid to make sure it didn't stain my clothes. As you can see in the photo, you can't see my feather tattoo at all. Makeup didn't transfer to clothing and there was no absorption. It lasted all day until I showered. ... show more
