My children were 3.5 and 1.5 when I bought this 6mo ago. This easel is durable and I love that it isn't childish looking. It fits well in their playroom or could even look good in our living room since it has a nice wood look. The "under basket liner" was not sewed correctly and tore when we put the bars through it but after contacting customer service, I was quickly sent a replacement sleeve at no cost. It’s a great product. Nice quality finish on all the painted parts. The included hinges are totally useless. See photos. The hinges are supposed to go at the top but the top doesn’t come anywhere near touching. Luckily I had some 5mm Luann that I cut into a 3/4” x 3” strip. I then drilled two holes 1-5/8” apart. I then removed the top two screws and ran them thru the holes I drilled. We painted the wood black to help blend the makeshift Christmas Eve assembly repair. I was worried that because this easel was so inexpensive (on sale for 27 dollars), that the quality would be low. I am VERY surprised how sturdy and good quality this easel has turned out to be for the price. It was also relatively easy to put together by myself. My 3 year old son loves this, and I enjoy that it comes with alphabet magnets. I bought more magnets to go along with it and they work great on the whiteboard. ... show more

Got this for my daughter. Took me about 45 minutes to build with an excited toddler. It’s easy to move and use. However I thought this one had the paper easel. I was pissed when I realized it doesn’t have it but this matches her toy storage so I kept it. It has storage space below so that was a plus.     • Major design flaw - drawing paper roll

The media could not be loaded. First of all, this is fine for the cheap price. My major issue with it is the paper roll. Not only was it the most difficult part to install but it is poorly designed. There is no way to keep the paper down flat against the board. It curls up and moves around. I’ve had to take painters tape and scotch tape hold it down that way, taping it to each side of the board plus at the bottom. I’m going to go through a whole roll of painters tape just so she can draw on this paper a handful of times. Plus it is essentially single use. It doesn’t give you much paper to start and once it’s out, it’s out and you need to completely disassemble the entire thing to get a different role on there. There’s no way to easily pop in a new roll on. Terrible design. Getting it on in the first place was the hardest part of setting this thing up and there is no way I’m going to put myself through that again just to get another roll of paper on there, much less one that doesn’t stay in place and shifts around when you try and draw on it. It’s fine for the price, but I would basically treat it like a single use easel as far as the paper goes.
