    • **UPDATE** Decent Toy, Very Impressive Customer Service

**Updated** My kids have been abusing the truck for several months now and am very impressed by its durability. Everything I wrote prior to the update remains true, but this thing has gone down the stairs, off the kitchen table, and smashed into things more times than I can count but it has been remarkably resilient. When my kids finally managed to break one of the front drive components by literally tackling the truck, the seller actually replaced the entire truck! I was hoping they'd send me a new part and I could do the surgery myself, but no- they replaced the entire thing outright! I was skeptical at first but the durability of the truck and the above and beyond customer service made me change my rating from 2 stars up to 4! Also, to help salvage the original (broken) truck I just removed the front axle making it 2-wheel drive instead of 4. The truck seems faster now and is much more maneuverable since the front wheels can turn independently of each other, greatly tightening the turning radius. ** I have a few hobby-grade RCs and bought this for my 3.5 year-old so she can play with her own "hobbyist model". My expectations were relatively low given the price point, but based on all of the positive reviews I was expecting this to be much better. I chose this model because it has what I consider a "normal" style controller (a trigger and steering wheel, as opposed to two control sticks like many other "toy" models) and very positive reviews. My pros & cons are listed below: PROs: Pistol-style transmitter. This is the style used by hobby-grade cars and I wanted to familiarize my daughter with this style of controller. Durability. My daughter has smashed this into every stationary object in the house and has taken it down a few stairs as well. Shockingly nothing has broken yet. Size. The truck itself is small, but a good size for inside play without worrying about damaging anything or hurting anybody. The controller is small enough for a small child's hand. Fun. My daughter loves it, which at the end of the day, is exactly what I wanted. Cons: Controller. The controller is awful and feels extremely cheap. There isn't a light to indicate whether the controller is on or off so it's very easy to accidentally leave it on. The throttle is either on or off- there is nothing in between so you cannot vary your speed at all. The same is true for the steering- either full turn or no turn, nothing in between. Maneuverability. Despite it's tiny size, this truck unfortunately has a huge turning radius making it nearly impossible to maneuver inside. Also, as noted above, its speed is either all or nothing. Not being able to drive slowly (or steer) makes it extra difficult to control in smaller areas. Overall I would not recommend this toy. It looks pretty cool and my daughter likes it but it feels more like a $20 toy at best. ... show more

Dug out an old Radio Shack RC truck I've had for about 30 years, for when a young relative comes to visit, but found it was not highly operative or reliable anymore. Bought this as a stand-in replacement. Pros: - Can climb darn-near anything, as long as you are careful to approach slowly first. Goes up and over the curb at the street, as well as the 4" step in the garage floor! - 2 batteries for extra runtime, even though each battery provides >15 minutes (I haven't fully tested the runtime). Cons: - A little faster than my young relative might be able to handle--he's not greatly mobile, so he has to follow something like this around, and only in the house. This car is more suited to a bigger outdoor expanse. - As others have said, the remote feels a bit on the weak side--my relative might destroy it easily, even by accident. - Only has forward/reverse, no fine speed control. I actually would like this feature for my relative as that is how my old RC truck operated, if this car's speed was just a shade slower. (Yes, it has right/left too, but no fine control either). I have not noticed it take any damage from my "testing" (playing), but I could see how a full-speed slam into a curb or rock might break it. We'll see how my relative likes it sometime in the next couple of months. I personally like it, and would recommend it for someone who can understand "being careful." ... show more

Overall good Rc truck for price, even tho only lasted 2 days.. was a little too rough with it and snapped rear wheel off they only use plastic to connect metal axle shaft to wheels so it doesn’t take too much. Under normal circumstances it probably won’t break like not climbing bigger obstacles and it rolling and crashing. Update*********************** However the customer service is amazing and they took care of it ... show more

Best thing about this is the transmitter is just like a hobby grade transmitter but tiny for little toddler hands. Great for my kid to learn how to control rcs. The truck itself is pretty durable, kid throws it and steps on it and it still goes. Comes with two batteries and it automatically turns off if he doesn't use it for a while. ... show more

A keeper for $30 for inside use to navigate my house objects and play with my pets. I can put their chew toys on it and make them chase it or provide delivery service to them. Pictures have measurement shown in INCHES. I hope that helps you out Solid feel. The metal roof, hood and door panels are a PLUS. Much better than the plastic shells for this price. Lights on when in use. They are white LED lights but in my pictures they look blue. Came small screwdriver to open battery door and also a few extra door screws. Come with 2 batteries , a charger cord that can be used with a cell phone charger or USB battery bank. Charge time is approximately 1 hour till full battery charge. Not a fast vehicle but it's a Rock Crawler, not a Dodge Charger or RX7.. It does have 4WD so it can roll right over anything that starts off shorter than it's tires. Even if it flips on it's side you can drive it back to you, on it's side as the wheels pull it right along - at least on my tile floor. Battery life was almost 30 minutes of almost continuous use. Then I switched in the 2nd battery and kept going. The ONLY thing I don't like is the cheap, thin plastic shell of the controller. If they made it from the same plastic as the main housing of the battery and chassis, then it would be 5 stars. In the pictures I outlined the OFF / ON markings for the switch on the controller. I could barely read it to know for sure which way the switch went. I think if I really have it a good squeeze that I would crush it. Again, this is a keeper for me at $30 price point . ... show more
