  • Outstanding!
Size: 1:18 Scale
I’m not even really sure where to begin except to say that these things are fantastic. Let’s start with that. Frankly, I wish Amazon had an option to give 5.5 stars (on a limited basis of 5 per customer per year or something). I purchased this model and the 9310 about a year ago figuring it might be a fun thing to do with my kiddo. At the time, I was basically a novice to R/C cars, having only played around with cheapo little-kid type vehicles. First off, they are QUICK as well as being FAST (any road car enthusiast will understand what I mean by that). They’re exceptionally user friendly for first-timers like my son and myself. They’re extremely well-designed, well-built, and INCREDIBLY durable. My son has put his through a real beating… I mean, a TRUE GAUNTLET of abuse. I kept expecting the thing to stop working, and it just kept going and going. (I’m going to get to the utterly astounding and applaudable customer service below.) This leads to the next admirable aspect of these machines. Obviously, they’re actually quite complex little things, with lots and lots of small moving parts. Inevitably, things are going to go wrong if you’re actually having fun with them. Given the exceptionally REASONABLE PRICE of these cars, many will probably opt to just replace them if there are problems. And there are the Amazon Assurion plans available too, of course. But… if you’re so inclined, the beauty with these is that so much of the hardware is replaceable/repairable. With a bit of curiosity, technical/mechanical inclination, some patience and a cell phone (I always take “before” pictures when venturing to repair a device I’m not familiar with), you can do a lot of “repair” (mostly just something that’s rattled loose or similar) yourself. You may want to have tweezers and a magnet*** on hand, and lay out a piece of newspaper to work on, as some of the bits are quite itty bitty. ***NOTE: don’t put the magnet near the car itself (can’t be good for the motor methinks); it’s only for finding that one screw that inevitably flies off into the ether. The initial unboxing and setup is very straightforward. You take ‘em out of the box and they’re essentially ready to go, although as with any gadget running on rechargeable batteries, it’s always best to give the batteries a full charge before initial use (therefore, if it’s for a kid… perhaps hide it until they’re actually ready to roll). Also, do heed the warning sticker advising against depressing any buttons while pairing the remote controls; I was told this can do some damage. And another obvious word of caution: don’t let kids mess around with them with the body removed, particularly after you’ve been running them for a while. The motors get extremely HOT (naturally), so be mindful of little burnt fingers. I have to essentially force myself to put in anything negative but feel it’s necessary in order for folks to take this review seriously… nothing is perfect afterall. But these are such minor quibbles (more tips to new prospective owners than criticisms, frankly) I feel guilty putting them in here. Nevertheless. 1] You will want to buy some extra cotter pins (extremely cheap to buy in bulk, and the cars do come with about a dozen spares), as they tend to rattle loose fairly regularly. I expected this and had purchased some before I even got the cars, actually. 2] The foam steering control wheel on the remote control may tend to migrate inward on you, but a tiny dab of super glue solves this “problem.” 3] I would like a tiny bit more sensitivity in the throttle trigger in order to truly utilize them on full speed setting without simply spinning the tires getting “off the line,” which leads to… 4] Be prepared to shell out for replacement tires (not that these will break the bank) if you’re running them on pavement a lot. Conveniently, they’re very simple to swap out with the included hex wrench. 5] I personally have found the shocks to be the parts that are most apt to mechanical failure; but again, they’re easily replaced for a reasonable cost (perhaps even free of charge depending your use/abuse… see below re: customer service). 6] You will have to adjust the steering alignment with the dial on the remote periodically, especially if you’re hitting a lot of bumps. This is not a big deal whatsoever, more of a heads-up to newbies like me. 7] They should be completely self-cleaning. That’s a joke of course. Seriously though, do be prepared to spend some time with the little brush (included) and some compressed air. If using an air compressor of some type, make sure to dial it way down as some of the inner workings are more fragile than they might appear without the body protecting them. I’m certain that keeping the cars clean helps maximize their lifespan. Now then, CUSTOMER SERVICE is beyond the beyond. It is so rare to find a company that does things in the “old school” way these days. This company does it all the way it ought to be done. Prompt, courteous, convivial, helpful, almost overbearing in their genuine care for the experience of their customers. 10 stars out of 5 here. These folks truly go ABOVE AND BEYOND. So, in summation: well built, user friendly, a great value, and backed by an extraordinary team of individuals… Last but certainly not least… THEY’RE JUST GOSH DARN FUN TO PLAY WITH!!! ... show more

  • Great budget basher for kids
Size: 1:18 Scale
Got this for my nephew on his 8th birthday. He absolutely loves it. I've got some similar but much more expensive RC bashers in this style and I thought maybe he would enjoy getting one instead of the usual toy grade RC stuff he gets. It's fast and durable and really great for it's price point. Life on the included battery packs are pretty short I think maybe 15 minutes on a full charge. They charge back up pretty quickly with the included USB charger but it still stops the fun. I would suggest buying some extra body clips because within the first 10 minutes two vanished into the ether never to be seen again, I just used a couple paper clips but they do sell replacement clips for these. ... show more

  • Just buy it, won't regret it.
Size: 1:20 Scale
Bought this hoping to get my 9 year old into RC with me, I have 2 1/10 scale full kits from Tamiya. She is intimidated by those, the size and weight is too much even turned down. So I thought this was the ticket, well she wasn't impressed lol. BUT I am loving this thing, it is definitely more hobby grade vs toy. Fully proportional makes all the difference to really enjoy an remote controlled vehicle. Already wanting to put a stronger motor in and maybe some oil shocks if I can find. It is an absolute hoot in the house, my others are far to big to try donuts and drifts on the hard floors. This little guy provides tons of fun right out of the box, the batteries last 20min+. Just make sure you fully charge prior to first use, and I recommend breaking in the brushed motor for best performance, but that's the hobby RC guy in me. I got a coupon and only paid $32!!! Even at original price it is the best buy. ... show more

  • Better than the old days
Size: 1:16 Scale
I was massively disheartened when I was looking at all the brick and motar stores like Wal-Mart and Target and saw that all they sell is absolute crap RC cars that have digital throttle and even steering controls with absolutely no power or speed. Yet you could pay well over $50 for these pieces of junk. I grew up in the days of Tyco and Nikko RC cars. No, they were not hobby cars but they were relatively fast and powerful for the money. I thought those days were gone until my son asked me for an absolute piece of crap RC car that is controlled by hand motions. I was then determined to find a good RC car for my son. I ended up running across DEERC cars here on Amazon and looked a few of them up on You Tube. I ordered it and gave it to my son for his birthday. We took it out and he thought it was cool and played with it like twice. While he was gone I took out for a full spin and I absolutely love it! It's better than my Nikko Turbo Hopper that I had back in the day! If you are looking for a RC car for your kid or even yourself that isn't Walmart junk but also isn't a $200+ hobby car, this is it! It has full analog throttle and steering, great speed and power to effortlessly go through dirt and grass, and even has a steering centering calibration knob right on the controller along with a top speed adjustment knob to limit the car's speed if your kid can't quit handle it yet. I love this thing so much that I won't even be upset if my son never touches it again, because I'll happily play with it! ... show more

  • Works great BUT....
Size: 1:18 Scale
I ordered this car twice. The first one broke within a day, the second one took 2 days to break. Full disclosure, my son was rough with it, but his brother has a larger brand name car that seems indestructible.

  • Good overall, but broke in 3 days
Size: 1:16 Scale
This Deere 9500e is my first hobby grade rc car and i gotta admit, this thing is fun. it even beat my friend “300$” rc car in a race. But when i gave it to my cousin who kind of knows how to play, crashed it into a brick not that fast. We checked the damage and it had a broken shock. I contacted Deerc for a new shock and it should be coming 15-25 days. ... show more
