  • Fun When It Works
This RC plane definitely has its moments. When you get a good launch and there’s not much wind, it can be a lot of fun to fly. It looks great in the air, has a bright LED setup that’s easy to track, and includes a couple of handy extras like spare propellers. Battery life is reasonable too—around 10–12 minutes per battery—which is decent for an entry-level flyer. And for kids (or kids at heart), there's something satisfying about watching it zip around in a big open field. That said, there are quite a few drawbacks that keep this from being a consistent go-to toy. The build is lightweight foam, which helps with crashes but doesn't hold up well in the long run. Some users report broken wheels or landing gear within minutes, and I had a similar experience—one wheel popped off after just a couple rough landings. Control responsiveness is also a mixed bag. Sometimes it feels smooth and easy, while other times it’s like fighting the wind with a wet paper bag. And if the propeller hits something (or someone), it can be a bit sharp—definitely supervise younger users. All in all, I’d say it’s a 3-star product. Fun while it lasts and impressive when everything clicks, but expect a learning curve, a few frustrating moments, and the possibility of a short lifespan. Great as a gift or casual toy for someone who's gentle with their gear and has room to fly—but not something I’d count on for long-term, everyday use. ... show more

  • Good quality, but short run time
The media could not be loaded. I have a bunch of hobby grade RC cars, trucks and boats - but this is my first my first rc plane. I originally only wanted to give it 3 stars, but decided to give it 4 because it specifically states that this is for beginners. And most of issues with this plane are because it’s just that - very entry level. The good: This plane is built well, the foam paint and overall design is well thought out. The propellers are well protected and it has a soft rubber/silicone nose (which is a must have for a beginner plane.) I’ve flown this a bunch now and have crashed it a lot - I have yet to make a good landing with it. But, it’s well constructed and handles crashes very, very well. The only thing I’ve broken on it is the landing gear - that broke on my first attempt. The controls are very, very easy to figure out - so easy in fact that even my 6 year old was able to fly this abo if as well as I could. Now the downsides: batteries. These batteries are so small, they are only 150 mAh batteries - so you legit only get about 5 minutes of flight time before the battery is too far drained to sustain flight. The battery compartment is also really small, so there aren’t many other options for larger batteries to increase your flight time (other than just getting a bunch of batteries). My other complaint is that although this is a small plane, because it’s so basic, you can bank your turns to make sharp turns- so it has a fairly large turning radius and given the lack of run time I would definitely only fly this in a larger open area like at a large park or football field. Bottom line, it’s fun, durable and easy to fly but with both batteries you only get about 10 minutes of total flight time and then it takes about 20-30 minutes to charge each battery up. So is this an ideal trainer or “beginner plane” not really, but for the price/value of the plane it’s a great to get kids introduced to flying and worth it if you live close to a park. In my last picture you can see that it’s still in pretty good shape, even though my daughter and I have flown it a dozen times with each flight ending in a crash. ... show more

  • Cool little airplane that's really easy to fly!
I was very easily able to fly this plane and I have almost zero prior experience flying model airplanes. It's not too big, and very light weight, which might make it hard to fly even in a light breeze, but when calm, the size and weight make it perfect for kids and beginners. With a little practice I was able to fly it in my front yard, dodging the trees (most of the time)... The plane flys pretty slow and gyro works extremely well to keep it under control and prevents stalls and nose dives... perfect for beginners. I still managed to hit several trees due to my inexperience, yet it sustained no damage at all. It's big enough that it's not hard to keep track of in the sky and it looks really cool. This is definitely a toy-grade, as opposed to hobby-grade, product but its a quality one none the less and can stand up to the mistakes of a beginner. It was a lot of fun to fly and I can see it sparking an interest in the RC Plane hobby, leading to bigger/better hobby grade planes in the future. ... show more

  • Difficult to steer, no altitude adjustment
I had a remote control airplane as a kid which I could never get airborne so I was curious to see how these newer ones do. Setup is easy, but the remote needs AA batteries so make sure to have that available if you are giving this as a gift. I had a bit of trouble pairing the remote with the plane but eventually I got it. Take off was easy, I just launched by hand. The controls are simple just throttle on/off and bank left/ right . There are no flaps, it just varies the speed of each propeller. Having the propellers in the back is a good idea. Even after several crashes they stayed intact. The downside of the simple controls is that it's very awkward to fly. You need a very large field and you can't do any sharp turns. The plane naturally wants to nose up which is good but when you bank left or right it wants to nose dive which makes turning difficult to get used to. It survived several bad crashes but eventually the nose popped off. I should have called it quits but I didn't. Without the nose, the plane was pretty much impossible to control and it got lost in a tree. Overall, I think there are some good design features but not as much fun as I had hoped. Probably good for older kids but under 7-8 would have difficulty. ... show more
