My son loves this car. It goes at a decent speed that he is happy and can feel comfortable controlling it. The quality seems pretty good for durability. The only two problems I have are the steering control foam slides off of the wheel on the remote. Kind of a pain but it still functions. We also had to re-solder one red power wire because the factory solder wasn't attached at all. The car all of a sudden stopped working until we did this but it was an easy fix. NOTE: in the advertising, the manufacturer claims the shocks are filled with oil. They are most definitely not, and don't have the sealing required to hold oil. That is why I took off a star. I'm into high-end RC planes, so I was really happy at what I saw when I took the body off this car. It has some modifiable components, the plastic is good as well as the reinforcing, and you can plug and unplug the LED lights from the receiver if you want to scavenge an extra few minutes from the battery. The batteries seem swappable for something more powerful if you dremel the area holding them, but they do the job in this situation quite well. For less than $90, this car has plenty of features that I really like. It's powerful enough to wheelie if you set the trim on the throttle to the most aggressive setting, and it's AWD with metal axles and good, strong springs for its strut suspension. The LED lights are actually useful for night driving, and it does seem to hit its claimed top speed of 40KPH/24MPH. The batteries charge a bit faster than 4 hours I found, and it's nice and agile. The trim on the remote works well, I was able to successfully mitigate a slight rightward push to get the car to go completely straight. It comes with a hex-nut tire iron so that you can take off the tires, and everything else can be undone with a phillips-head screw driver. If you are an enthusiast and are used to higher-end RC cars, you'd find some of the build a bit frustrating, like the shocks and certain gears potentially being plastic instead of metal. But I think this is an incredible gateway for a newbie to get into good RC toys, especially with the RGB LEDs and Wrangler-meets-Mustang styling. I'm definitely keeping this one. Pros: -very fast -great toy for the price point -good battery life -rugged -looks great Cons: -false advertising, the shocks don't have oil and make the truck very springy (which is fun tbh) -have to unplug the LEDs from the receiver to get them to shut off Overall: -I really, *really* like this RC car. It's the best one I've reviewed so far, and I'm looking forward to many more hours of flinging it over curbs and through gravel. The media could not be loaded. I have not had a remote control car for a long time, so even though I got this for my grandkids to play with, so far I have played with it more than they have. I had forgotten how much fun they could be. It seems to be pretty sturdy and even though it has been crashed a number of times it seems to be holding up OK. Nothing has broken so far- knock on wood. When using it after dusk or at night the lights make it look pretty cool! There are buttons on the controller that allow you to control the color and function of the lights. It comes with two batteries and one charger, so you can only charge one battery at a time. That is not really a big deal for us but it might be for you since it takes longer to charge a battery that it takes to run one down. The charger is USB on the one end but the plug that goes into the battery is not USB so you can't just grab another USB cable to charge it. The battery has a series of four lights by a button and when you press the button 1-2 -3 or 4 lights illuminate to indicate how much charge is on the battery. One of the two batteries I got do this properly. The second battery does not work in this respect. When you press the button no lights light up. The battery still charges and operates normally, you just can't check the battery level by pressing the button on that particular battery. The charger has flashing lights that indicate when the battery is charging and when it is finished so you can use that function on the charger to know whether or not your battery is charged up. The steering controller on the remote has a foam rubber pad that fits over it. That makes it nice, and i like the feel of it but it doesn't stay on very well. I am going to put some glue under it so that it will stay on. The battery life seems pretty good. Their claim is that each battery will run for 20 minutes. I have not timed it, but that sounds about right. I'm sure your mileage may vary depending on how aggressively you are driving it. Overall this is a pretty zippy little RC truck that seems sturdy enough to give you many hours of action-packed fun! ... show more

Firstly, this is such a cool toy car. My 9yo loved this and wanted to play with it as soon as he saw it. The lights are super bright and definitely can be used at night time. The part underneath the top of the car where you put the battery’s, you may want to tape it down. It lays on its side on the inside but since this is a toy car meant for off roading, it can come dismantled easily with enough force. I guess it depends on how rough the kids play with it, so I just tape the battery down on the inside. He said this car is super fast so he’s been working on how to control it better but it’s so much fun for him. The wheels themselves absorbs shock from all the turns and jumps and bumps it goes over while he’s racing it around the neighborhood. A huge smile and I’m sure will get lots of use. This is something he wants to play with after he gets home from school. A very giftable fun toy car, even my 4yo daughter wants to play with it, so sharing is a slight task here with this car! But that’s ok, it’s just really fun for them! ... show more
