Style: CASTLE 360 EX
So I just realized that I never wrote a review for this cooler. I purchased it in December of 2019 after a good amount of research online, and in the end it was both the aesthetics as well as the history of DEEPCOOL engineering their coolers that won me over. They did a lot of work so that they didn't have a high failure rate like they had in the past and well, I can say that it was a great purchase. This was paired with an Intel 9th gen i7 9700k. Now, a 360mm AIO might be a bit overkill for that CPU, but still I just wanted some headroom for overclocking or in case I decided to move over to another more powerful CPU later down the line. Back in 2019 the CPU temperature was always hovering around 31c idle, 60c at 100% load (Cinebench R20) vs. nowadays the temperatures are around 36c idle and 65c on load. Considering that during these years I have moved over to a warmer climate, that means it's still working just as good as on the first day. Now that's at stock speeds, overclocking the processor to 5.1 GHz the temperature stays on the 74c range while at 100% load using Cinebench. Overall very happy with the result, I'm curious how it handles something much more power hungry and hotter like a 12th gen 12900k (if there's even a kit available from DEEPCOOL for mounting to LGA 1700, you should research this before purchase), but I would be surprised if it's not up to the task. Installation was not difficult and honestly I don't recall anything that particularly stood out to me, so that must mean that it was a painless process. I did eventually add 3 more of the TF120 fans that I bought separately for a push-pull config on the radiator, but I didn't notice much of a difference so it really was just me keeping the overkill going. The RGB is nice with the infinity mirror effect, although the effect selection is somewhat limited with the built-in controller. It is also a physical button that you have to press to change the effects so keep that in mind if you don't plan to/can't connect to the motherboard. By the way, the removable cap that creates the infinity effect is acrylic, it may get smudged will handling it, while cleaning the inside you have to be VERY careful not to peel off the dark film, I accidentally scratched it while cleaning it and now it creates this pattern of bright circular scratches. But that's mostly on me for not using a soft enough cloth. Long-story-short: Zero issues so far. Quite happy with a great cooler where both the thermal compound and pump were meant to last. I have to point out that I did adjust the pump speed through BIOS to always run at the same speed (~2000 RPM) which may have increased longevity. Either way I can definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Great performance, may have mounting issues for intel lga1200 on a ASRock B460M motherboard.
Style: CASTLE 360 EX
The media could not be loaded. First off the mounting system didn’t fully work, but may be caused by my motherboard ASRock B460M, I previously had a D15 air cooler by noctura which I had to use the backplate and mounting studs because the suppled back plate and studs with the AIO left my cooler loose and allowed wiggle room on the cpu. Now onto the Pros, so as stated before I had a D15 air cooler to cool my 10900k and when playing high graphic demanding games would run around 70-80c and when playing assetto corsa in vr on ultra setting would hit 90-95c, after installing this AIO the temps are down drastically when playing RDR2 on ultra everything doesn’t get past 55c and now when playing VR doesn’t get past 60-65c, drastic improvement on temps. Side note I have a push pull fan configuration with 3 cool master fans on the front and 2 of the aio supplied fans on the rear side. Overall impressed with the performance especially for the price over other “high end” AIOs. Not sure if anyone else has had issues mounting but may have to Frankenstein some other backplates to work for a lga1200 intel cpu with ASRock boards. ... show more

  • Needs to provide extra mounting hardware
Style: CASTLE 360 EX
It needs to provide extra mounting hardware, the scraws are small and easy to drop and lose. Other than that it is a great cooler, I have used this same cooler in three builds so far

  • Really Nice
Style: CASTLE 360 EX
First water cooled component I’ve purchased. I was using and older case as you can see from the attached image. It went in fine. Runs quiet. Inexpensive compared to others. Extremely happy with this purchase.

  • BEWARE IF USING 12th GEN INTEL!
Style: CASTLE 360 EX
Many listings advertise this AIO cooler as being compatible with all intel and AMD applications however this is not true if you are using a 12th gen intel motherboard. (1700 socket). The included bracket DOES NOT FIT 12th gen motherboards. I had to purchase a 12th gen intel cooler bracket in order to mount this cooler. I used the Noctua NM-i17xx-MP78 mounting kit here on amazon (less than $10). The cooler works great with an appropriate mounting bracket. Just make sure to use a 78 pitch mounting bracket such as the one I listed above. Use the Noctua bracket without the blue spacers and use the four thumbscrews in the AIO kit. For less of a headache buy a cooler that specifically states it supports the 1700 socket. ... show more

  • Awesome Design, Easy to Build, Great Performance!
Style: CASTLE 360 EX
This is the first AIO Cooler I've used, but I couldn't be happier. The install was straightforward, all the screws lined up well, and the performance has been great. I was running a Noctua D15 air cooler, and the Castle 360EX has improved cooling by over 15 degrees Celsius under Prime95 testing. It brought my temps from running in the high 70s to the low 60s. This may give me an opportunity to overclock further and squeeze out even more performance out of my Intel 9700k. On top of the performance, the AIO Cooler plugs in directly into my Gigabyte Motherboard and syncs nicely with the RGB throughout my case. Now I wish Gigabyte had better RBG software, but I'm still loving the finished look. Please note: on newer Gigabyte boards, you'll use the 4-pin connector for RGB, not labeled Gigabyte connector. This was a little confusing, but it seems like Gigabyte has made a change in their motherboard connectors. ... show more

  • Love it!
Style: CASTLE 240 EX WHITE
I was going to happily use my old Captain 240 in white, but I apparently threw away the AM4 mounting hardware, and could not find a cheap replacement online. I saw some reviews of the Castle, and my gear lust got the best of me. The infinity mirror is so cool! I love the fact that you can rotate the logo inside, or even remove it entirely (although I will admit, I haven't tried yet... when I went to unscrew the cap, it didn't want to budge, and I didn't want to manhandle the thing trying to open it). My Captain ran perfectly for years, and I expect this Castle to last as well. Hopefully my pet Metroid doesn't chew through the tubing! ... show more
