I've bought many Deconovo panels in various colors and have always been pleased with the quality. These were just as high quality. Room Darkening These are excellent room darkening panels (true blackout panels are fully lined and cost quite a bit more) and the price is excellent for the quality. The fabric is thick and heavy. They keep my living room very dark, for watching tv or gaming. I selected dark grey and the color is close, though a bit lighter than I expected. See pics of my actual panels (brighter with the camera flash on). Once hung, they look darker. Coverage All my windows are bigger than standard and I also have a bay window in my living room - so I need a lot of coverage. I ordered two packages of the 63" panels for the bay and one package of 84" panels (total of six panels). I probably only needed three panels for the bay window, but since these come in a set of two panels I went with a fuller look. I love that these come wider than standard panels: 52" means I don't have to buy as many panels as other brands. Tabs Or Pocket These also have a new design I've never seen before. The panel can be used as a rod-pocket OR as a tab top. This is wonderful! My bay window has a very wide diameter rod and I was concerned rod pocket wouldn't fit. These actually fit due to a generous hem allowance, but it's nice to have the tabs if you want a different look. Pricing Deconovo has other panels available that look just like these with the same measurements but at a lower price. The difference is the WEIGHT. If you look under the Product Information at the item weight, you can see that these panels weigh more than others they offer (ounces per item). The heavier curtains provide more darkening. Highly recommend...Love these curtains! Bought a blush pink color for a little girls room and it looks so adorable. They are thick, the color is accurately depicted and they throw in matching tie backs. I will definitely be buying these again for the rest of my windows.

    • Blocks Out the Light, what else do you need it to do?

I’ve purchased these curtains in a different size and liked them enough to repurchase. One side of my apartment is south-facing and it gets hot and bright when the sun comes out. That is no longer a problem thanks to these curtains! You can see a little bit of sun when it’s super sunny out, but beyond that these work perfectly. The included photo shows the side by side difference— a good tip is to install them higher up your window and have them hang past it so that it totally blocks the light. I wasn’t able to do that because I have weird windows, but I think a lot of the complaints would be alleviated if they’d just installed them higher and made sure they went past the length of the window. They’re soft and the color is true to the image. Fabric is soft and pretty thick— they seem more expensive than they actually are. Like all curtains that don’t have a black backing, the lighter the color, the more light shows through. If you want budget blackout curtains and are on the fence about these, here’s your sign: get them! ... show more

    • Very Good Value - Not the Best for Blackout but Easy to Clean

I did not really purchase these for a complete blackout effect and in my opinion they are not the best curtain you can get for that purpose, but they do a pretty decent job of blocking out light. I have them in my front window which faces north and has an awning so there is no real direct light yet some still get through when they are completely closed. The ones I had previously did a better job for sure, but they had a backing material that helped to prevent light penetration. These do not have that backing and reply solely on the thickness of the fabric. However, the previous curtains I had were ruined when I washed them and dried them on a low setting and the backing material stuck to itself causing the fabric to peel and leaving areas the light could penetrate with no problem. So my intent this time was to get some curtains that were well made, looked good, hung nicely, blocked about 90% of the light when needed, were affordable and were easy to clean - since I smoke I like to be able to wash them once a year or so. These curtains check all the boxes and at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for a complete blackout curtain this might not be the best option. If you are okay with about 90% blackout these should serve you well and are a solid value. ... show more
