    • Good product, but consider this little advice
I see many people complaining because these are not "real" blackout curtains. While this is true, people must consider how much more expensive a real blackout panel is. I installed the curtains in my room and this was my solution: I bought a double curtain rod set (look for "Umbra twilight double rod set" available in Amazon) and two sets of curtains. Specifically I got one dark-colored curtain set from Deconovo and a second one, in lighter color, from Nicetown, also available in Amazon for a similar price. Then, I put a curtain set in each rod. I decided to put the light-colored curtains on the inner rod, the one that would be closer to the window. The dark-colored curtains on the second more external rod. This is still much cheaper than two real blackout panels, it works nicely and looks beautiful. Let me explain you what do I mean by "it works nicely": My apartment is in the fifth floor and my room points toward east. It has a huge sliding glass door that leads to the balcony. This means that the sun hits on it from the sunrise up to 3 to 4PM in the afternoon and this huge window is responsible of creating a greenhouse effect right in my room. It gets insufferably hot! Also, there is a street light just in front of my balcony which is so intense that is almost as having daylight right at midnight. Putting two sets of these curtains really solved the problem.     • Great blackout curtains, but I have to return
I purchased 3 sets of Teal Blackout Curtains Grommet Top in size 52x84. They arrived promptly and in a clear plastic package with no labels. I was able to put them up on our existing rods. The color is very pretty and the silver back is also pretty, although they need to be ironed or steamed because they were wrinkled. I did not notice any fabric imperfections and I liked the fabric. Compared to the double-layer curtains we have now, these block out the direct light MUCH BETTER, about 95-99% directly. You can tell by looking at the ends that there are several layers of material on this, it is sufficiently heavy and has the black material in between the teal and silver so it's not visible but does the job of blocking light coming through directly. We did not have blinds on the windows so the direct light blocking was impressive. Sadly, I must return these because my husband who sleeps during the day does not approve. There is too much light reflection outside the perimeter of the curtains that overall, our room was actually brighter (even though the curtains themselves are more blackout). I may order these again in a longer length to at least prevent the light coming from the bottom of the window, but I think maybe the silver reflection is what is making it worse. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, the only thing that has ever worked to block out enough light for him is tin foil or complete window coverings, neither of which is ideal. I have not found a good blackout curtain that will work in any pretty color or design, and am ready to give up. I really really liked this teal color! ... show more

    • Silver on the inside, not white
These basically do the job although my husband thinks they are hideous. I chose black because I didn’t like any of the other colors. The lining is metallic silver, not white as I thought. They do a decent job of blocking the light but light still comes through the top and bottom. To get total light blocking you would need to order them much longer than the window. I had to put boxes against the bottom to keep light out and some still comes through at the top. But they are ok. The outside material is like a satin and they are VERY difficult to iron the wrinkles out of. They just would not smooth out at a lower temperature but when I turned it up a little there was a smell like they were just on the verge of burning. I managed to get them mostly smoothed out without scorching them, but be careful your iron isn’t too hot. ... show more

We love this brand of curtains and have noticed a considerable difference in room temperature. We have always used eclipse curtains until we found Denconovo. These are amazing. We have been slowly switching all our curtains in the house over to these. The only negative thing I can say is that I wish the teal had been available in the size I needed. If you are looking for true blackout curtains, you've found them! I was surprised how luxurious they feel and are not clumsy or stiff like those found in hotels. The color was true as pictured. I have southern and western facing windows that make the room almost unbearable in the summer and was searching for something that would help with the heat, but still look appealing. These curtains have significantly reduced the temperature of the room and really do look so polished! They way they are designed to hang allows for full coverage and there is no gap between the edge of the curtain and wall, along the length. Needed a blackout curtain with a white back, ended up more of a silver but close enough. Keeps out light really well, though with a straight rod there is of course some light getting through on the sides, but overall does a good job, especially for the price.
