This is the best gold marker I've discovered! I'm so glad I gave this one a shot. In the past I've tried the Sharpie brand in gold and it wasn't vibrant and had more brown than gold in its color. I'm using this to "gold-plate" the edges of resin coasters and actual agate slices. It goes on easily and really looks like gold leaf. I've tried a LOT of different gold markers over the years, and this is one of the best I've used. I'd love to get it in a fine point for decorating Christmas ornaments as well, but the chisel point is perfect for covering largish areas quickly. ... show more

The color is so pretty! Works well on paper, okay on plastic, and barely stays on metal. Smells like paint but smell doesn't linger. It lost one star because because it doesn't write smoothly. I absolutely loved this pen when I wrote with it yesterday when I received it in the mail. I was so excited and it is excellent to write with. The gold is very shiny and pigmented. It is a thick ink. It writes smoothly. I'm happy with it whenever I write with it.

    • BETTER THAN EXPECTED!
The gold has a metallic gold sheen. It's more premium-looking than a gold sharpie, which is by far superior. It does have a strong spray paint type of smell, but it does wear off after a couple minutes. The odor is not that bad unless you put your nose right on it. I highly recommend this pen
