Original review June 2018 I was fortunate to purchase this from Amazon Warehouse deals for a reduced price. I agree with most of the other reviewers both pro and con. Pros: Looks very nice Sturdy Sized just right Many compliments Cons: Mine didn’t just flip open to the finished product The two sides were not fully connected because the iron tabs at the top of each side were bent upwards and they fit on a bolt which should come with a nut and or a cap nut (acorn style) but no hardware came in the box. In order to bend the tabs into place I had to hammer or bend them down almost a half inch. This required some ingenuity. I used a 2 pound dead blow plastic coated hammer. In order to prevent damage to the threads of the bolt I took a piece of aluminum alloy about a half inch wide by a quarter inch thick and long enough to keep hold of it. (I actually used the back edge of a carabiner which worked perfectly). Once they were bent into position it was relatively easy to lower each shelf into place. Until that time I had used packing tape to hold each shelf in its swiveled up position to keep them out of my way. I bought some acorn nuts to screw onto the top of the bolts but they are shiny chrome and don’t match the color. I’m going to try to find some dark ones. I believe that the size is either 5/16 or 8mm. I will update this review when I find out for sure. Update 10-17-2019 We’ve had this unit for 16 months now and we love it. It is very strong and sturdy. It sits correctly on the kitchen floor and we keep a variety of canned and boxed foods on it as well as 2 nesspresso machines with pods. I don’t know how we got along without it for so long. The size of the bolts holding the sides is 8mm. You can buy 8mm black acorn nuts for the exposed top bolts and bottom if you choose. So easy to assemble - just flip up the shelves and your ready to go. Looks great, very sturdy even when our cat jumps on it. Looks great too - doesn’t look like a cheap shelf as others do.

The shelf did not match the photo and was very cheaply made. The wood shelves were made up of several small glued together pieces and the wood was grey and tan instead of the nice warm brown shown in the photo. The quality of the metalwork was cheap, especially in the curve work. There were 2 bolts sticking up so high their threads were showing. This rack is way overpriced for what you get. I might buy it from a garage sale for $25.00. That's it. ... show more

This is a great item and is nice and sturdy for my purposes - holding heavier appliances so they don’t take up counter spaces, as well as a couple cases of beverages. So it’s sturdy! It also couldn’t have been easier to put together. Took me about five minutes.
