  • Love this one!
For my fellow left-handed bassist out there, you can understand the frustration in trying to find an acoustic/electric bass that is responsive, has good tone, and does not cost your right arm to own! I believe I found it in this bass. Great tone! Electronics are good! Love the built-in tuner. I am getting a little buzz with the E-string on the 3rd fret. Probably needs some mild adjustments to the neck. My only complaints are the electronics were not fully connected when I got it, so I had to take the stings off and connect one of the wires. Once I completed that little “operation”, the bass plays beautifully. The other is there is only one peg for a guitar strap. Despite that, I finally have an acoustic bass to be proud to play, at home and on stage! Worth every penny! ... show more

  • The Right Price for the Right Tool
As a lefty player, you know it's hard to find a variety of bass and guitar options. Shopping around local stores or event Guitar Center is usually a waste of time, because they always have the same 1 or 2 cheap Indonesian made Stratocasters and a cheap Yamaha acoustic guitar every time I go there (lefty's can relate). I was looking for an inexpensive acoustic bass to add to my stable of gear and knew that nobody would have a left acoustic bass in their shop.... So, I turned to Amazon and vioila! I wanted this bass primarily for when my band plays "unplugged" gigs where it's an intimate venue (house concert) of street corner busking that doesn't require a PA system and where an electric bass and amp rig would be overkill. The bass arrived last night and I was surprised at the decent quality for the $250 I paid. The sound is good, it feels good and is large enough to project sound, but not so big that it is unwieldy (I'm primarily a guitar player). This is going to be an excellent addition to my gigging guitars and basses. Other reviews have complained about the electronics, but I have no basis for review for that. Frankly, I don't plan on plugging it in because I've got a perfectly good electric bass (Eastwood Hi-Flyer) for those occasions. My only complaint (minor) is that the action is a bit high for my taste. BU, that is the case with almost every new guitar you buy. So, the solution is simple... I'll take it to my local guitar guru and have him do a nice set-up to get it to play to my specifications. Until then, it'll do the job I need it to do. ... show more

  • Pretty good starter accoustic bass
It arrived in OEM packaging. The padding left a little to be desired. It had a big chip knocked out on the back side. Amazon was nice enough to give me a credit for this. I didn't want to return it since it didn't affect playability. I can't complain about the service. It's easy to return stuff, but making a claim without a return requires live-chat with a customer service rep. The lady was courteous and resolved my issue in a few minutes. It sounds really good for a low-cost bass. I haven't hooked it up to an amp yet. I did plug my e-tuner into the pickup jack. It tuned up nicely. It stays in tune pretty well. You could play small venues with it, or mic it, or plug it into the house system for larger rooms. ... show more

  • My husband <3's it!
I bought this as a gift for my husband's birthday. I have a Dean EVO and he's always loved it. When he mentioned he wanted to get an acoustic bass for an acoustic project he recently began performing with, I seized the opportunity to get him his own Dean. He was surprised by the sheer size of it, and immediately fell in love with its tone. It arrived a little earlier than expected (yay!), so we had time to get him a gig bag before the party he was performing at that night. There was a slight imperfection where the white accent meets the wood, but it's not noticeable unless you really look, and the player's arm would cover it anyway. It doesn't affect the sound in any way. It's a beautiful bass with wonderful tone at a very affordable price. Win, Win Win! Overall, we are thrilled with this purchase and ... show more

  • Good value for beginners or intermediates looking for a low cost acoustic.
Great for beginners or someone just wanting an acoustic bass without dropping alot of money. Little let down the guitar came with a chip out of the bottom of the body on the back(not the end of the world, its a bass im using to just run around and jam with friends so im not gonna be super upset if it takes some damage). The actions a bit high for my taste when tuned to standard. But overall im happy with my purchase. If I spent alot of money on the bass, my feelings would be quite the opposite. So if your looking for a nice acoustic for gigging or studio probley worth investing a little more money. ... show more

  • Happy with this for the price
I've been playing this for a few months now and I'm happy with what I got at this price level. It did arrive with a couple of small nicks to the headstock, but otherwise in good shape.

  • Best acoustic Bass you'll find for anywhere near the price.
Great tone, perfect intonation. Sounds so smooth, and great access to higher frets. The pick-up is very quiet though. Almost inaudible, even through a PA. But if you buy an aftermarket cello pick-up, totally works. This is BY FAR the best lefty acoustic Bass you're going to find for the money.
