  • Succeeds in Keeping my Cats Away From the Plants
Love the netting! It works perfectly. The new cat in the house's only vice is that he won't leave plants alone and will chew on leaves and knock the pots over every chance he gets. For the first few months I have just had a bedsheet thumb-tacked to the wall to keep him away from the plants. It has worked, but I was sick of it and wanted to actually see my plants again more often than just when I'm tending to them, so I bought some of this netting to replace the bedsheet. The cat did try eating through the netting, but thankfully even though it's lightweight, it's durable enough that the cat wasn't actually able to bite a hole into it. After that I just pinned a strip of fabric along the bottom where he could easily reach and he hasn't tried to get to the plants ever since. I have had the netting up for almost a week now. I was worried the cats might push into the netting to get to the plants, but one left it entirely alone and the other didn't try anything more than just biting the netting and failing to bite through. This is about 6 ft wide by maybe 5 ft long of netting for this project and I still have a ridiculous amount of netting left over to use later. I highly recommend this netting if you're like me and desperately want to garden but have no yard to do it outside and want to protect your indoor plants from plant-obsessed cats. ... show more

  • Sturdy and doesn't tangle
In the previous years, I have used 3 foot chicken wire and netting purchased from a famous local hardware to cover my tree and protect it from the birds/animals eating my fruit. They didn't have any netting so I searched Amazon. There were many choices, but I chose yours because you advertised it was sturdy, wouldn't tangle, kept the critters and birds out, allowed the sun in and was very wide and long. You met all those promises. I only gave a 4 for maneuverability because I did this by myself and it would have been easier if I had a helper. If you enlarge the pictures, you will be able to see how I used the netting. This is my fig tree (it never grew a trunk, but it yields a lot of figs that don't start to ripen until August). I have a plastic border around the bottom. I placed about six 5' long green garden spikes around the perimeter and wrapped the tree with the netting. It is so wide and long that I didn't need the chicken wire around the bottom half. I used small clamps at the top to keep the netting as high as the tall spike. I pulled the netting snugly and used small spikes to anchor the netting to the ground. If I had a gap, I use a cable tie to close the opening. When I have to pick figs, I pull up the nearest ground spike, lift up the netting, pick the fig(s), pull the netting back in place and stick it and the spike back into the ground. Your netting does all what you said and it is much easier to gain access to the ripe figs without the stiff chicken wire. I definitely recommend this netting. ... show more

  • If you want to anger the birds, this is your netting
Our chicken house and run is surrounded by old growth hardwoods and evergreens...home to owls, hawks, turkey buzzards, crows, osprey, herons, you name it. They hate us now. We added this netting as a canopy layer over the deer fencing that was the former top cover on the run-and the birds tried but were instantly defeated. My chickens are still traumatized from the swoop but they are thumbing their beaks at the birds now that they are safer. It installed well (it's a two man job unless you enjoy cursing), we anchored with zip ties and staples (yes, we're basic), and it's held up in all kinds of weather. Bought 3 more for my fruit trees when they start to bear. Love this product. ... show more

  • It worked well to keep the crows out of my garden boxes
This netting really worked well to keep the crows out of my raised beds - they were ravaging my seedlings. I was able to cut it into appropriately sized pieces and stretched it over PVC hoops. After a month or so, once the plants were large enough and the crows had lost interest, I took the netting down and boxed it up to use again next time. If the crows come back this season, it will be easy to deploy them again. The netting seems fairly durable, so I suspect it will last a few years with care. ... show more

  • things get caught. such as a bird head.
i liked the spacing when i was putting the mesh on because it was easy to use the openings to tie it on and to staple to the ground. BUT... manipulating is difficult because it literally picks up every stick and branch it comes in contact with and branches will grow through it so you'll need to cut off either the net or the branch. Worst of all i walked across a dead bird with its head stuck through the mesh yesterday--apparently the top part of the mesh had blown off or fallen down and the bird got in. Mesh taken down and replaced with mosquito netting--will not use again. ... show more

  • Does the Job
I put this netting over my raised garden bed to keep birds away from my strawberries. PROS: -Good value for the amount of netting -Lightweight -Virtually invisible once installed -Allows pollinators to enter, but keeps birds out CONS: -Very thin - may tear easily if it gets snagged on something -Somewhat stretchy and creased from being folded, so it's difficult to cut and place evenly -A little unwieldy to unwrap, as it comes folded instead of rolled. If you are planning to use more than a little piece of this, consider it a two person job So far it's working well. ... show more
