  • It will work
This kit will make a working guitar, but if you are looking to stain or finish the wood, forget it. Glue completely came through the plys on the top

  • Glue bleed through prevents stain from taking.
I was impressed with the quality of this kit. The neck joint was tight, and everything looked fantastic, until I applied dye. Suddenly a lot of spots showed up that would not take the dye, leaving white spots all over due to excess glue during lamination of body. Since I had already stained it, and because it was so good besides the glue spots, I decided to keep it and just paint it a solid color. What a waste of a nice flamed maple top. I hope this gets passed along to the factory, because I am pretty disappointed. ... show more

  • Beautiful ❤️
I love the woodwork I love that it looks and feels a lot more expensive than what it is. It is a great way for a beginner like me to learn how to finish a guitar

  • Veneer too thin, can't withstand a light sand with 400 grit.
I was using 400 grit sandpaper after a wood stain to let the woodgrain come through, it literally went through the veneer in less than 20 seconds of light sanding. I've built kits before and this by far the thinest I've ever had to deal with. I can't imagine not being able to polish your finish without worrying about destroying the guitar. ... show more

  • NOT a guitar for a first-timer
Finished up this guitar today. I went together great, no adjustments required on the neck, just a bit of filing for a couple sharp fret ends. Plays great. Not recommended for anyone who has never done a kit before. NO instructions came with the kit that pertained to this specific model; just some generic info. The video has NOTHING to do with this guitar. ... show more

  • Better Than Expected (based on previous ratings)
I have a feeling the low reviews may be because it lacks directions? (Conversely, if you think you actually NEED directions to put something this simple together - a kit is probably not for you.) The actual pieces of the kit - which is what I was most concerned with - are five stars. Shipping and packing was adequate. (In general, YouTube has better instructions than any few pieces of paper they are going to include anyway....) ... show more

  • No instructions
Wood was beautiful, construction was good. Wiring harness plenty long enough. Knobs looked on the cheap side so ordered different ones. Absolutely NO instructions... none.
