  • The Best Part of Any Game
Style: Dayz
Having spent a lot of money and a good chunk of my life playing video games, it is sometimes fun to reflect back on what you really enjoyed from all of those hours spent playing. It may be somewhat a reflection of real life and overcoming challenges, but some of my best memories are from the early stages of a game. You know, the point were you don't have all the cool weapons or gadgets and sometimes you have to avoid enemies because you are too weak and they will quickly take you out. This makes each time you find something to help you that much more meaningful and critical to your survival. Sure it is fun to play after these early stages, but is it as rewarding? This is a game that perpetually keeps you in the fearful and every item counts stage of a game. You may stabilize your character and even find higher end loot, but one wrong step and it is all taken away from you. I also really enjoy meeting other players in this game. What a character study in the mind of video game players. I refuse to shoot anyone I meet which usually means that I will get shot by the other player. What does it say about us as a society when in a game we have a choice to help each other or we can shoot each other in the face and the first choice is always to shoot the other player? Is it self-preservation or something darker? I don't know, but it still makes each encounter interesting and often fatal. The game isn't perfect when it comes to inventory management. For example, the most recent patch just added the option to make it easy to add logs to a fire. Keep in mind this game is older and you have to have a fire at night if you don't have the high end clothing or you get wet. Never mind building the fire, which was clunky at best, adding additional logs on the fire was an extreme exercise in patience. That said, I am glad I stumbled across this game and have enjoyed all my time spent playing it. If you are patient and can avoid losing your mind each time you get killed and reset back to zero, I would recommend this game for you. ... show more

I ran around for a few hours and nothing ever happened other than getting chased. I got bored with it and quit.

  • Like wtf. This game has no chill

If you like to suffer and play the hardest game ever made. This is it. It will test your patience, stamina and most of all… morals. It’s a brutal game with the innocent and monsters all on one map. It’s organized chaos to put it simply. Buy the game. Just do it. And try to just live past one day. And keep at keep at it. It will get better. And on the lighter side, when there is not zombies chasing after you and gunshots ringing out in the distance, It’s a chill game to do some fishing or hunting animals. It lets you play how you want. But please, don’t be the monsters that kill fresh spawn players for fun. The game is insanely hard enough already. Try to to trade with some people, help out the new players and maintain some kind of moral compass in a world of insane people. I wanted a challenge for a game. I got more than I asked for. 10 out of 10 is my score for it. Ps. Look up JLK Dayz on YouTube to see how a pro plays it. It’s like watching the show the walking dead. But better. ... show more

Game itself is ok. But programmers have no clue how to make it fun. You die every 15 minutes from starving, illness, dehydration as every time you are spawned you have half heath and no way to get enough food or multiple items to make food that doesn't make you sick. Or it rained and i guess they expect you to hide for an hour doing nothing. While you starve, as if you go out in rain everything gets soaked and you get sick and you cant wring out shoes and you cant walk barefooted . To cook you need fire which needs wood kindling lighter. Then you need a knife to cut up any meat if you are lucky to ever find an animal then you need a frypan or pot. Even if you were super lucky to get all these items you've died 20 times and everything you've collected is gone or 40 miles away if you could even find your stuff or body. Now if you eat raw meat you get sick at some point and you never can find medicine. And forget hospitals police stations fire stations supermarkets as usually you find ruined clothes and bs like motorcycle helmets that block your sight and not items you would think would be there. And don't try to stash items either as after a few hours its all de spawned or ruined by weather in 1 day. I cant imagine trying to build a base . You need saws axes nails rope lumber etc etc and you can never find any if it just one or two items. And how long does a base last after tons of effort? Every action usually requires multiple items you can never find. And how long has this game been out? A few years now. A for effort FFFF for gameplay. Then you have bugs they have left for years, while the sell more addons and do nothing about them. Most stash items and other things are so heavy you take like 2 steps per minute, now when you have to walk miles to find this stuff and then walk miles back it take hours in real time, if you survive the formentioned things along the way. Well good thing they have vehicles right? NOT AT ALL!!! they dont work in PS4 and they've know it for years and done nothing. You spend hours getting the parts. Then you sit back to drive guess what???? 10 seconds into driving at any speed, looking any direction, your screen freezes. Sometimes it come back, but it usually stays frozen until the vehicle crashes. Now there is damage to the engine, you drive some more, same thing until it crashes, it can stay frozen up to at least 5 minutes. By then the whole vehicle in "ruined" and if you move too far it despawns with any items youve left in it. I've tried 3 times, and that was pure luck I even found 3 fixable vehicles as most are just damaged parts cars all over the map. 2 times i step a few feet away they disappeared, 1 time it stayed smoking out of the engine but was gone a few minutes later. Been reported for years and they do nothing about it. Sony or Bohemia Interactive should be class action sued for porting this to consoles and then selling it when its free for PC and they only seem to fix issues with the PC versions. And there are tons of other issues. Give me my money back. I had 3 barrels hidden well apart for days that were full of tools etc to build, no one had found any of them. I get the final tool I need to build a base after dying 200 times and hours walking back and get back to my stash, the barrels are gone and half the items are left in the spot. did they de spawn? I've looked all over, I can see maybe 1 or 2 but all 3 were found and moved off a mountain? This game is a complete waste of time. and ZERO fun to play. IF i could give it a negative score I would. ... show more
