so I wore this helmet for the first time today on a moto ride and I have no complaints about it. it fit my head true to size. I needed a large and it fit perfect. it's soft and comfy and the strap is also comfy and holds its adjustment. the buckle keeps it in place. some complain that it's not a true DOT helmet. well, what does it matter if it is only a half skull cap helmet and will only protect the top of your head. it will not protect your face or neck area in a collision. if you want full protection then buy a full face helmet. I bought this helmet for when I ride around town and am going at slow speeds (30-40 mph) and for hot days so I can keep cool. I will not wear this on the highway. also some complain that at high speeds air flows up into the helmet and pushes it back off your head. again, what do you expect. it's and an aerodynamic full face helmet. that happened to me too at 40-45 mph. I just tucked my head down and dealt with it. no big deal. overall. I like it and would recommend it for what it is. ... show more

I'm used to wearing a skully that offered little to no protection. I searched for a lightweight skully and decided on this one. When it came I tried it on and put it back in the box with the intent on returning. Next day put it on and wore it around the house. My head is huge and this makes it even bigger. But it's very lightweight. I decided to keep it. First mile down the road I hated it. 20 miles later I forgot I had it on. It's comfortable and very lightweight and I like the quick release. Ive been riding all my life and decided I'm not taking any more chances and will now wear this helmet as it's still a skully but offers protection and I got used to it because it's comfy and lightweight. I recommend it to all the old school bikers out there ... show more

Replacing my Akoury ak-88 skull cap with the Daytona Skull cap. Years ago, It was between Akoury and Daytona. Daytona was the bigger company but Akoury was so much more comfortable, lighter and no mushroom head at all. Well the bigger company is still here and Akoury is out of business. I purchased the Daytona skull cap in dull black and gloss black. Both in the same size. The gloss black was amazingly comfortable, sat low in the head and seemed very well built. A little larger than the Akoury but I could deal with it. The dull black model came and was extremely tight, mind you, same size and model as the gloss black. The dull black model was so tight, it gave me a horrible headache after wearing at home for 30 minutes trying to break in. I've since ordered 2 additional dull black models and each one fit slightly different. All seem to be manufactured in India. I don't care much where it was made but the consistency between all 4 helmets was substantial. Good thing for Amazon's free returns. I kept the original gloss black and one of the three dull black models. I picked the dull black model that fit the best of the three just because i wanted a dull black one. The gloss black is my current go to. I guess, if you think it doesn't feel right or too tight, try ordering another one. The value of these helmets is pretty amazing. I'm rating these 3 stars mostly because of inconsistency. If rating the gloss black helmet itself, that one is 5 star all around ... show more

Hated this helmet as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Not sleek or at all like the photo with the person wearing it this thing looks like a huge bowl cut sitting on my head.. guess whoever rides with me gets to wear it because I won't! Looks terrible!

I purchased an aftermarket seat for the motorcycle so I could enjoy riding it for more than two hours at a time. This helmet is the first one I've owned that made me comfortable for more than a two hour ride as well. Glad to say that both ends of the spectrum are now taken care of. Much appreciated.
