    • Now I can achieve proper trolling speed!
Easy to mount and works perfectly. Without the trolling plate at idle I could only get down to 2.6 mph (GPS speed). With the trolling plate down at idle speed (700 rpm) my GPS speed dropped to .7 to .8 mph. I bumped my rpm to 1000 and can troll at 1.5 mph. Running a 60 hp outboard and a 14/11 prop on a 15' tri-hull. Easy to use, put in neutral and drop the plate, pull the release cord in forward at idle and the prop wash raises the plate back up. ... show more

    • Poor construction but after you make adapters, it works.
It slows boat down to perfect speed for trolling, but quality construction, it is not. I had to rig a mechanism to ensure it releases and another one to ensure the it goes all the way up or down.

Initially not clear on where to install mounting plate. Trolling plate works inconsistenly - sometimes releases easily, sometimes not

    • Not a noticable change in RPM
It didn't seem to make any difference in the speed of trolling for some reason maybe just wasn't for my application . Don't care for having to worry about the rope pull release, getting it to release to go faster was temperamental.

    • Don't like it need middle position
This is my third trolling plate. This one was remodifed with a middle position rather than just up and down. I don't like this feature as the plate tends to stick in the middle position. I'm really not sure what middle position is fire but I see another bent plate in my future.

Mounted it on a Envinrude 48 HP had to use a top mount because of the trim tab. Dropped gps tolling speed from 2.4 to 1.6 mph
