We own same item that was struggling to compress springs. Turned out they need lots of grease on threads to reduce drag under load. Lucky for us the replacement ordered had been previously used by someone and not in NEW condition as advertised, so we returned it for a full refund. If our current model breaks, we would purchase this item again. Note: It needs a strap or something to secure it while under load to prevent clamps from slipping off coil. ... show more

The spring compressor exploded under full tension. It was violent enough to kill a person. luckily I did not have any body parts in the flight path of the spring. it's a nice concept with very poor execution. The fillet radii are too small in the trench and the web is too thin. The material is also too weak. Do not buy unless you want to loose a body part or your life. ... show more
