This is a second update: I haven’t bought a new OEM yet but I will. I don’t drive my truck often so only noticed this recently. When driving through my neighborhood the headlight was lighting up tall oak trees- high up in the trees. When driving into a drive-thru, I wanted to see at what angle the light hit the car in front of me. Normally, this would be when you’re directly behind the car 0 degree differential. The headlight was shining toward the car when I was approx. 35-40 degree from directly behind the car. So not only was it shining in the trees, but it was off center by ~40 degrees. I thought for sure I’d get pulled over due to the safety issue. Fortunately, I made it back home unseen. I called Amazon knowing it was past the return date, but they needed to know that the product was unsafe. See my original and first update below. I give Amazon 5 stars; though past the return date, there is still a manufacturer and Amazon warranty. I was offered a choice of returning for a new headlight from the same manufacturer (too many LOL’s to insert here), or to return it to Amazon for a full refund or credit. I’m telling you all, I’ve inspected the interior carefully and there’s no attenuator, no voltage regulator, an adjustment screw not attached to the plate holding the bulb, just a cheap thin piece of plastic and two same sized connectors (interchangeable between high and low beam), which is not done when manufacturing electronic devices where the connection carry different voltage levels. This is the reason some people reported burnt or melted wiring. I can’t stress strongly enough how the functionality and interior parts are different from OEM. They look great on the exterior, but that’s where quality ends. If you plan to keep it, test the voltage coming from the truck connector to find which has 65v +/- (from memory) and which only have voltage when high beam is on. This will allow you to ensure the connectors are connected to the appropriate bulb. This review relates to the headlamp that uses a single connector plug (no need for the provided adapter. UPDATE: After finally getting my truck back and having time to inspect it, I found that the wires are NOT crossed. When I checked to see what bulb was used on the protector bulb (should be 9012) I found it was an unmarked brand noting voltage. I then inspected the reflector bulb and it was a 9005 (as required). When I compared the voltages to my manufacturer’s I found that, because they use the exact same connectors for both hi/low beam bulbs, they simply used the wrong wires to each set of bulbs. You can test this by checking the voltage running to the low beam (always on when headlight is on). You’ll likely find the low beam voltage is connected to the high beam bulb. The low and high beam also has different voltage levels when on. All I needed to do was switch the connectors. That said, the inside apparatus seems to be installed in the housing upside down. This causes the low beam to point up, blinding oncoming drivers. I attempted to adjust the light but it did nothing! Further, I’d bet dollars to donuts that the manufacturer installed only a cheap interior apparatus. The OEM headlights are high tech; “When you switch to high beams, a solenoid-operated shield within the projector housing flips down to allow maximum light projection.” Because I used a voltmeter when installing I had to grab the connectors, which were too hot to hold. The headlight itself (exterior) was so hot I couldn’t hold it without gloves. It looks great on the outside, but the interior is crap! I’ll be buying new OEM headlights tomorrow. The fit was perfect; that’s how it earned a single star if I could have selected less than a star I would have. FYI: After installation, which went smoothly, I thought the light needed to be adjusted downward because the half moon projection was downside up (or upside down). But when I selected brights, the projection appeared almost normal. From this I concluded that the high beam was always “on” and the low beam came on when the high beam was selected. After reading the reviews, the issue was reported on almost 100% of the poor reviews. One reviewer indicated the black and blue wires are crossed, but without schematics or testing I’ll take them at their word. This can, however, be verified with a multimeter; the wire always getting voltage when normal lights are “on” should be low beam and the wire with no voltage until high beams are selected will be the high beam wire. Additionally, more than a few buyers indicated the wires burned up while others indicated the bulb burnt prematurely. These are indications that the wire size is insufficient for the voltage. However, if the burning/melting occurs in/at the plug, this indicates the pins in the connector are made from an unsuitable alloy. The fix: Either don’t buy this product or, if within the return period, return it. I missed the return window so I’ve been thinking of a fix. Originally I thought to 1. Replace all wires with a heavier gauge, 2. While doing so, switch/cross the high and low beam wires, 3. Test with a multimeter, and 4. Solder the wires. However, I do not want to open the housing to get to the wiring (breaking a watertight seal, which is why I purchased the item in the first place), so that’s a poor idea. I could cross the wires on the original harness and after testing, solder and shrink wrap. But do I really want to mangle the original harness only to learn the pins burn up? (The answer is “no”.) Ideally, I’d like an inexpensive female to female adapter, each connector plug separated by a length of wire that would allow for crossing the high and low beam wires, thus providing an opportunity to determine how long the wires and/or connector pins will last before burning, or if unstable voltage burns the bulb prematurely. I hope this review saves some of you. Remember the adage, “you get what you pay for.”

0 stars would be better blinkers only work occasionally and running light on 1 of them never works. Sent one assembly back and a replacement was sent out and it was just as bad. Removed both and replaced with the old ones that came out and they work fine

Purchased both left and right side headlamp assemblies for my 2014 RAM Laramie. The harness that comes with these was not needed for my truck which has the same connector as the replacements. Both bulbs are included in these sealed units and the adjustment was smooth and easy. There are YouTube videos showing how to remove the old assemblies. The dealer wanted big bucks to replace the headlamp assemblies! It took me about an hour to replace both sides.

I received passenger side assembly, went to install then found out product was wired wrong compared to original headlights. Low and high were backwards. I ordered replacement unit. It arrived with the internal projection unit connected to the housing by what appears to be one screw. Internal lights are loose inside housing. I removed back door to see if it could be tightened and then found out it did not even have a bulb in the projection high beam spot. So now I have no working unit as I threw the original away once replacement was ordered and I now have two useless units that both must be returned to get my credit. Subsequently leaving me w no headlight assembly in my truck. Amazon customer service could not do anything and contact w this manufacturer has not been successful. My recommendation is run from this company and this product! I don’t see any quality checks here at all and zero customer service help!! RUN FOREST RUN!!

Overall the look is almost factory. The beam is different and does not match how the factory headlights look. I only replaced the driver side after hitting a deer and there is a noticeable difference between the two. My biggest complaint is the low beam bulb is not the same as OEM. From the factory both and low and high bulbs are the 9005 size but on this the low beam is a 9006. For some it might not matter if you keep the inexpensive bulbs that it comes with (until you need to change it and everything will show the 9005) but I had upgraded to the premium Silverstar and was swapping my still good bulbs for the ones this came with. I only noticed as the plug is different between the two. So I thought no big deal and I would just cut off the plug it came with and swap for the OEM one from the damaged headlight. Got that done easy and then noticed the socket is slightly bigger for the 9006 bulb over the 9005 when i was installing it. It had some slop and the o-ring won't be able to make a good seal. At this point I'm stuck because I've modified the headlight and the front end is apart so I just put it in since the lugs on the bulbs at least match and are tight. I will be looking for another replacement that matches the OEM specs 100% and is set for both bulbs to be 9005. But again, if you are comfortable with the standard bulbs this would probably be just fine. But I had upgraded all my bulbs and was going to reuse them. Installed, nobody would know the difference, unless you know the factory ones say RAM on them. But not matching the OEM bulbs is a big letdown for me.
