I wear work boots as a truck driver, but had been wearing the cotton socks I grew up on (no, not the same pair) with a poly liner sock, and was using foot powder. I still got athletes' foot. I've been wearing these socks for about a year, still with the liner socks though that may be overkill now. I have not had athletes' foot one single time since I switched to these wool socks. I don't use the foot powder anymore either. No wear in the socks; they're like brand new. These socks are darn tough!
