  • Good Toy
Style Name: Xylophone
This is a kids toy meant for children 3 years and up. Each key does have a distinct sound; although, I'm not sure about the "8 key scale from C to C" but again it's just a toy. My 5 year old daughter enjoys playing with it and hearing all the different sounds as she makes up her own music. In my opinion, it's a good buy for about $10 or less, including shipping. ... show more

  • FUN!
Style Name: Xylophone
I take care of my father who has dementia, and we have "music lessons" each afternoon. He so enjoys his new xylophone. The tone is nice, and the construction is sturdy. A perfect beginner's instrument.

  • Great item for the money
Style Name: Xylophone
This is a toy! I dont think it's perfect or the greatest product, but the 4 year old that is using it loves it. It is a toy and was made for that purpose.

  • It's cheap & out of key, but who cares, my daughter loves it.
Style Name: Xylophone
I purchased this as a low cost introductory musical instrument for my toddler to play with, and that is exactly what I got. This is a TOY, not a real musical instrument. If you're looking for a musical instrument to give to your little Mozart, spend a lot more than a couple bucks, and get your little genius a xylophone from Amazon's "Musical Instrument" department. BUT if you're like me and all you're looking for is to get a musical toy your toddler could bang, thrown on the floor, and on occasion chew/lick, then you've picked the right product. It's not perfect, but then again, what do you expect for less than $10. ... show more

  • Durable and cute!
Style Name: Xylophone
In the stores I was unable to find a decent xylophone for a decent price. I fell in love with one that was similar to this, but almost twice the price. I wasn't sure if the gift recipient would LOVE it and I could get something else she LOVED for the $20 price tag. So I was thrilled when I found this. I gave it to her (4 yo girl) and it was an INSTANT hit with both her and her 2.5 y.o. brother. This is a LOUD toy for a toddler, but it is fun when you show them how to play simple songs. This had held up to daily play for 2.5 months now and seems to be going strong, so I think this is an excellent choice for any aspiring musician! Ha ha. ... show more

  • Exactly what I thought it would be
Style Name: Xylophone
So, I assumed this would be some chintzy toy, and that is exactly what it was. The sounds it produces are out of key and not particularly resonant. This is exactly what I wanted for some recordings in the works. The reason I rated this at 3 stars is that this is probably directed at young children. I think appreciating music requires an in depth understanding of tonality and key. This xylophone is not in tune, and I feel that this could aid in the degradation of music from a tone-deaf generation. ... show more

  • Great little xylophone
Style Name: Xylophone
Bought this for my chickens. Not sure if they have played with it due to our coop to far away from the house and out of sight of the house. I'm hoping they are and liking it. This is very nicely made and should hold up nicely.

  • Not actual notes of C scale
Style Name: Xylophone
I knew this was a cheap toy and was purchased as a gag, so it serves its purpose, but don’t purchase as a child’s instrument. The keys are completely different tones all over the musical map. Lol. It’s not a c-scale. It’s not any scale. You can’t even peck out a simple tune like twinkle twinkle little star or Mary had a little lamb. Three of the keys were B flat, there was a D flat and a C#. Completely bonkers. Made the gag even more funny, but avoid as an actual instrument. ... show more
