When I opened the box, I was a little concerned because the shoes looked narrow, but surprisingly, the are roomy enough even for a heavier weight sock without my foot feeling squeezed. If you need built in arch support, these shoes have it. I am used to taking out the insole and replacing it with my custom arch support, but with the Dansko Peony, I didn’t have to. They are lightweight and have a nice cushiony feel, but with some structure built in. I wish they came in a better selection of colors (I ended up with the white), but these will work for me. Also, they come with two different types of shoelaces. One is a flat elastic, which would be a good option if your feet are a bit wider, and the other is a round lace which worked better for me. I haven’t gone for a long walk yet, but I think these shoes will keep my feet comfortable.

Love the color, the light weight, good cushioning. Arch support is good but not like the clogs. The back and sides are a bit high and hit the ankles. Good for a day out, but not long walks in my own opinion.

I have been wearing Dansko clogs and sandals for years since I injured both my feet during a move that involved a flight of stairs. I can only wear good supportive shoes now and my podiatrist forbids me from ever going barefoot, even to the toilet. And what a collection of expensive ugly shoes I have! I started working in a warehouse for the holidays doing 11 hour days almost entirely on my feet and couldn't wear my clogs, plus they're too hard for concrete. My Kiziks are awesome too but also not designed for all day on concrete. I was in agony, so I decided to try these Dansko sneakers. They reduced the pain by about 75% and the support difference is instantly noticeable. My other favorite sneakers for standing are NB Fresh Foam X. The marshmallow sole is awesome, but they aren't as supportive inside. If I could combine the Peony foot bed with the Fresh Foam X soles, and make them water-resistant/proof like clogs, I'd have the perfect medical shoe for 12-hour shifts! I like these so much, I bought a 2nd pair in a different color. For medical shifts, I'm now rotating between my Peonies, my traditional clogs, and my NB's. I feel like my 12-year quest to live without excruciating foot pain at work has finally ended!

I've worn Dansko Pace sneakers for years since they fit me perfectly and need no breaking in. I was ready for a change though, and I gave the Peony a try. I really liked the style, colors, and the option to go hands-free when putting them on, but the toe box was a bit too narrow and they felt a little less cushiony and flexible. I'll have to stick to the Pace but wish the Peony had worked out for me!
