Charles Danner came to Oregon in 1936 to make durable, high-quality boots for Pacific Northwest loggers. Inspired by those first caulked logger boots, the Logger 917 is a modern reinterpretation of a heritage design. A nubuck leather upper features a classic moc toe. A waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex liner shrugs off rain, snow and monster puddles. The Vibram SPE midsole and Vibram 917 outsole offer long-lasting comfort and reliable grip no matter where you spend your days. This boot is built on a new great-fitting, ergonomic last. It's true to size and has added footbed allowance for stability and greater underfoot support. It's easy to wear and comfortable for use in a variety of casual environments. Combines our traditional stitchdown technique with cup sole construction that allows the boot to keep a wider platform while eliminating the need for a buffed sidewall. This gives our sneaker boots a modern aesthetic and lightweight, flexible finish.

I was hesitant to shell out for these boots at first. Shoes are tough when you can’t try them on first, but I figured if worst comes to worst, I can return them. These boots are actually awesome. Minimal break-in, and felt comfortable right out of the box. I generally wear an 11.5 (US), and they fit perfectly. They appear to be well made and should last a long time with proper care. I can also have them re-soled down the road. I hit them with waterproofing before wearing, and have had zero issues with wet socks. And, they just look good. Lightweight, super comfortable but do run a bit on the small side. Break in very quickly and the Vibram sole is very grippy. Midsole is not too cushiony or too stiff- just right! Highly recommend

When I first put them on I thought they were too narrow and was going to return them. I’m so glad I decided to keep them, after only wearing them for one day they stretched enough to mold to my foot and fit perfectly. I highly recommend, very nice quality. I bought these boots for a Christmas market trip to Germany. I wanted boots that could handle snow/slush, lots of walking and standing for long hours. I only was able to give them a short break-in period, a few trips to the store and back, before our trip. But despite the short break-in, these boots handled the trip with ease! I was on my feet 12+ hours a day for a couple weeks, walking on varying terrain (cobblestone!). I never experienced discomfort, wetness, or cold. I was worried they would be a bit too thin for cold weather. But I wore thick (or two thin) socks, and the temps were upper 20s to upper 30s F. No cold feet during the entirety of the trip! I knocked off one star for the rigidness of the ankle support. This might be where some break-in would help. There's not much cushioning around the ankle, so I found it would dig in slightly after a long day. Overall, I plan to wear the heck out of them in the winter (midwest-US, so snow and cold Oct - Apr). They're nice enough to not look out of place in a dress casual situation, where weather is a factor. I'd buy them again, and hope they hold up for years! ... show more
