  • Temperature Setting
Color: Stainless Steel
The temperature setting is very simple, as in no numbers. It was very challenging to settle in on the right temperature. We finally bought a thermometer and settled for 50 degrees.

  • Great wine cooler
Color: Black
Bought this one because my old one stopped cooling one day. This is a very nice wine cooler for a great price. It’s not as fancy as my old one but it does an awesome job cooling the wine and is much quieter. My old cooler had two temperatures. This one has a dial to turn on the back of unit. Low to high. I have it set low and it is doing exactly what I want it to do. I only wish it had a spot that told me what the inside temperature is. ... show more

  • Missing a temperature read out
Color: Black

  • As shipped, this product does not adequately control the interior temperature!
Color: Stainless Steel
Do you want your fine wines to be stored at a specific temperature? If so, then you need to add a thermostat. I would not have bought the unit if I had understood the problem. The only thing that kept me from returning it was the inconvenience. However, if you like everything else about the unit and are willing to drop an extra $40-50 for a thermostat and then drill a warranty-voiding hole in the top of the unit, then this might still be the right wine cooler for you. There is no built-in thermostat. Instead, there is a dial with no numbers on it. If you place the unit in a basement where it is cool, then even at the lowest (warmest) cooling setting the interior temperature will vary between about 46 degrees F and 48 degrees F. That is too cold for storing a red wine. The instructions say that the interior temperature of the unit will vary with the temperature of the room where the unit is located. In other words, the dial really just controls how much cooling the unit provides, no matter how much cooling is required to maintain a decent temperature inside the unit. I contacted Danby tech support and was basically told "it is what it is". They offered no solution other than moving the unit to a warmer place in the house. That was unacceptable and I was ready to send it back until I thought of adding a thermostat. If you have the stomach for it, you can work around this deficiency by drilling a small hole in the top of the refrigerator and dropping-in a temperature sensor that can be attached to a thermostat. Make sure you drill in the exact center of the top. (I am not responsible if you destroy your refrigerator by drilling this hole. All I can say is, it worked for me. I was emboldened by the fact that some Danby mini-refrigerators can be converted to kegerators with a tap in the top of the unit.) I purchased a DIGITEN DTC102 thermostat from Amazon, and after a couple of days it seems to be working great. Here is a link to the product on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DG339P5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Also, since the unit does not have a built-in thermometer, I bought an inexpensive Wrenwane Digital Refrigerator Freezer Room Thermometer to hang inside the door where I can see it. Here is a link to the thermometer on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011LM7IY6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This was added 6 weeks after the initial review above: the thermostat is working like a champ. This allowed me to use the Danby as I intended, and actually made the Danby a decent value for the money. ... show more

  • Good low priced wine cooler
Color: Black
This cooler runs a little on the cool side, but my basement is also cool, so it's not that bad. The ambient temperature is about 6. Pictures are from the top, middle, and bottom of the cooler. There is no thermometer built into this cooler, but I already had one that I bought for my old cooler. The temperature dial is at "barely on", the warmest possible setting. I may use a cooler setting in the Summer. I put the red wines near the top and the white wines on the bottom because the bottom is about 44 degrees and the top is 52. ... show more

  • Great cooler at good value
Color: Stainless Steel
The one thing that could improve this cooler is having a temperature readout. I had to purchase a separate temperature gauge to keep my wine bottles at a desired temperature.

  • Not a true wine cooler
Color: Stainless Steel
This is more of a beverage refrigerator. The ideal temperature for wine is about the mid 50 degree Fahrenheit range. The warmest I have been able to get this unit is 46 to 48 degrees. I am using it for white wine only. Not suited for red wines. If you want to store soda, this is the cooler for you!
