I have 7 pairs of boots, Dan Post Boots are the only brand I have multiple pairs of and the ones I own are my go to boots every day. People see me in boots all the time but for some reason this pair always has people commenting on them. I love the almost desert like color tones on these. I was interested in this product because I wanted a nice pair of boots for special occasions. I found these and was interested in them due to the quality that I had head about from other Dan Post products. Shipping was fast and the product showed up exactly as the description said. My only issue with them was that I ordered my Justin/Ariat size, which turned out to be a little larger that I would have liked. I would just order a half size smaller than normal. I contacted amazon, which put me in contact with Dan Post directly. The customer service was second to none. The lady that helped me was understanding and apologized for the inconvenience, which was my fault not theirs. I explained the situation and she helped me resolve it in a matter of minutes. I received the correct size boots in just a couple days and was equally impressed by the second pair. Like I mentioned before, the fit was a little larger than I expected, but once I had the right size everything was great, to include the toe box. The leather soft and is void of any flaws that I could find. The sole is a rubber and leather mix, with a "soft strike" heel. So far I have worn these a few times and they seemed to break in fairly quickly, with no cracks or issues arising. I would, and have, recommend these boot to people. This is my 3rd pair of Dan Post boots all the same size, the only thing is that these ostrich leather ones are a little tight on the forefoot so im thinking I need to break them in, other then that love the quality of the boots.

The first pair I received had (1) a slit/tear in the leather on the shaft of one of the boots, (2) a small chip/chunk missing from the finish on the toe of one of the boots, (3) streaking (noticeable lines) in the dark brown glaze/finish of the boots, and (4) several rough spots in the edges of the leather upper and on the finished visible part of the heel (as if debris were under the painted/coated finish). The boots generally look very nice. I would have kept them, but I was afraid the slit/tear and/or the chip on the toe would get larger with wear. Due to the unique finish of the boots, I was not sure how I would fill in the chipped finish without it being noticeable. These defects would be bothersome even at a lower price point, but I may have kept them and been willing to accept the risk. At the $300-$400 price point, however, I couldn't. I exchanged them for another pair to see if they would be better on the second try. They were better, but still defective and not acceptable for the price point. The second pair had similar streaking/lines in the glaze/paint of the finish, but it was less noticeable. The deal breaker on the second pair was the fact that the toe of one of the boots was awkwardly cut and stitched so that the outer corner of the toe stuck out further than the inner corner. Instead of a square toe box with a flat tip, the toe on the left boot was more diagonal/slanted from left to right when looking down while wearing the boots. It probably would not have been very noticeable to others while walking, but it was clearly noticeable while standing still. Again, maybe acceptable at a much lower price point, but unacceptable and not the quality expected at the $300 to $400 range. ... show more

Dan Post boots are about all I wear so I know when somethings a little off. First of all, the inside of the shaft is a fabric not leather (sign of a cheap boot). Second, like the other review they are about 1/2 size too big.. And the picture shows a buttery Tan color I got dark brown ? Like to know if I was shipped a different color or if their pict is off. They also make the cheaper Durango boots and that's what this looks like.. Look at my Picts the light boot is the stock picture.. ... show more

Great boots, super comfortable, waterproof. They do scuff easy but it's character! Only thing I will add is there will be gat added at delivery for canadian users if you go with shopping blitz
