I waited to write this review until I had a chance to test it on a pair of decent speakers -- I recently purchased some Klipsch R-41M bookshelf speakers, and have been researching amps since then. Why did I pick the DAMGOO ZK-502M? Because it's dirt cheap, I mean, come on! If it didn't work out, I would just skip buying an extra six pack of beer one week and call it even. As you'll note in the specs, you can use anything from a 5 volt to a 24 volt adapter, but the more power you give this little gem, the more it can send to the speakers. This is an important point -- if you have decent speakers, you need to get them the most power possible, so splurge on the 24 volt / 5 amp adapter. Anyway, once I assembled it (pretty simple assembly, and I've included a photo of where the heat sink attaches because that's about the only thing that folks have complained about assembly-wise), my first test was with a pair of AKG Q701 reference headphones, coupled with a Dragonfly Black DAC, into the auxiliary output. Lucky I waited to test this amp again with speakers, because the headphone output is not bad... it's terrible. I do NOT recommend this for use as a headphone amp. What probably will work -- though I can't test it -- is a set of powered speakers. The manufacturer's representative told me that the AUX OUT doesn't go through the operational amp chip, so it needs something to bump up the power. That said, my Klipschs arrived today, and I plugged them into the amp, and I'm just sitting here stunned. I may (emphasis on MAY) get a higher-quality amp in the next few months, because as I said, I bought this dinky little amp half as a joke, but this amp just told me in no uncertain terms it's not joking. Despite the fact that the whole setup is just sitting on my bed (as shown in one of the photos), as opposed to properly placed in the room, I'm in heaven. The Klipschs are known for the strong high-end, but even so, if the amp was as bad through them as the auxiliary output was through the headphones, I would be writing a very different review right now. I expected it would be like the headphone output: high- to middle- heavy, tinny, no bass, and limited volume. But no. I have the speakers cranked up less than halfway and am astonished at the range and clarity this mini monster is providing. I'm not hearing any distortion, and no buzz/hum when I pause the music. As for the Bluetooth, I disconnected the AUX IN and switched over to BT just now. I'm going to assume that the slight drop in audio quality has to do with not going through the Dragonfly DAC, but it's a marginal decrease that I could improve by messing with the EQ settings on my music player if I planned to use the Bluetooth a lot (and I don't). I can't weigh in on the long-term durability of this DAMGOO, obviously, but I was looking for a cheap power amp to drive a couple of decent speakers, and surprisingly, this amp is it. Do not be fooled by size or price. If you're looking for something dirt cheap, with zero frills and good sound for a set of speakers, there's no reason not to buy this.

I would have never guessed such a small little AMP could put out so much power and still sound great. I am using it to drive 2 Klipsch 8” bookshelf speakers and there is plenty of clean crisp sound thats just as good as my high end Denon amplifier. It is very small (about 2x2x3/4”) and simple. Power, USB and Aux in, 2 sets speaker leads out. Power button with a little blue LED tells you its on and a 1.5” volume wheel on top. It does get a bit hot after a few minutes if you drive it hard bit not so much to be a fire hazard. It is important to choose a good power supply. Its spec states it will work with anything from 12V 1A up to 24V 5A which is what I am using which is probably overkill for my situation. The higher the volt/amp rating the louder/bigger speakers it will drive and still sound good, but like many situations the law of diminishing returns applies as much here as it does in most circumstances. Im sure if I experimented I could finder a lower rated power supply to drive my speakers and it wouldn't run as hot.

I bought this to play back from a recording machine. It's an interesting little device--about 2.1/2" square. It comes unassembled, but assembly is very easy except for where to position the heat sink (there are a choice of two chips to put it on and the heat sink is much bigger than either--it goes over the chip on the right hand side when the label is facing you. Just so you know). There is no AC adapter, but it supports a wide range of output DC voltages (5v-24v) and the power output depends on the input DC voltage. I repurposed an old DirecTV adapter at 18v which gives me an output power around 30W. I'm only driving a couple of 8ohm satellite speakers and I can make them plenty loud. You just have to match the DC pin format on the amp and somewhere in the 5-24 volt range. It supports 3.5mm stereo input jack or bluetooth (which pairs very easily). I've been running it from my iPhone with no problems. It also has a USB input which I've not tried, but I imagine it simply plays MP3 files starting from the first--I don't think there's any way to select tunes or fast-forward. It also has an AUX out (also 3.5mm) for an "active speaker" which I haven't tried. I think I could probably use for a computer rig subwoofer. Astonishing variety of controls. Really. This is not a high fidelity amp, of course, and when cranked you can hear it. But hey, the thing is tiny and it is really inexpensive.

If you connect everything properly this is a powerful little amp. I am using it with Acoustic Audio passive speakers. I did not want to purchase a set of powered speakers, just don't care for them. I connected this amp to a Little Bear a mini audio A/B switch which allows me to select either headphones or this amp. It works out just fine. I sometimes wish I had a subwoofer but without a low pass filter, a passive sub is not going to sound as good as a powered one, and both passive and powered cannot be connected to the amp at the same time. Not a big deal, the amp and the speakers were very inexpensive but don't sound that way at all.

I've been relying on ear buds and portable BT speakers for too long.... I figured I'd have to run speaker wires from my 35 lb behemoth receiver to get GOOD sound elsewhere in the house but I gave this amp a try. Raiding my box of old electronics I gathered a few feet of speaker wire and a 12V AC adapter and to my surprise I got great sound from a pair of vintage Harman Kardon mains using this tiny gem. I wasn't expecting the volume or bass thump they provided, especially as I didn't max the power supply at 24V. Next up? I'm going to salvage HTIB speakers which are better than the (dead) receiver with which they were paired. After that? Maybe trying my hand at those famous DIY flat panel speakers. This product gave me an easy solution; no opening walls to run wire, no A/B switching, and most importantly no space-eating and wallet-lightening amp required. Using quality speakers I already had I now have a stereo SYTEM which adds virtually nothing to the footprint of the speakers themselves. All for the cost of a takeout pizza. Win.

I used this amp to power some passive speakers under my pergola. Pros and Cons: Pro: super small and light, I velcroed it to one of the speakers. Sound quality is decent, no distortion. Cons: This is a kit that you assemble. There is no case, just standoffs and a face plate. There is no power supply, you have to provide your own, up to 24v. There is no selection ability other than which input is used, and no audio controls other than volume. It works for my application, however.

I might hook it up to speakers in the future but I wanted a stable Bluetooth receiver and it does this admirably. I'd been using a dongle which was rubbish picking up lots of RF interference. This one works perfectly with no static or hum and a great range. I used the aux output and feed it you active speakers and it's really good. Works best with a good DC adapter. One of three few times when I write a review, but doing so because it's that good. Probably would be good in a car too.

So I bought this particular device for for 2 specific reasons, both of which it has failed at. 1. I expected to be able to use the line (aux) out and the speaker out at the same time, using line out to drive a subwoofer. This does not work. As soon as something is plugged into line out, speaker out is muted. I consider this deliberately misleading, as the description and pictures show aux out being used to drive active speakers, not headphones, which is apparently what it is really meant for. 2. I wanted to use USB input from the PC, as a digital signal should result in a clean output, with no amplification of input line noise. Instead it emits a humming noise whenever anything is playing. It's noticeable when whatever is playing is low volume, and does stop when nothing is playing, but still defeats the point of why I chose it. Also because the thing shuts off when there's no sound playing, it takes a moment to turn back on when it does detect sound. When listening to people talking, this often results in the first syllable of words being lost when it turns off and back on. The "off" is a fraction of a second, so yes, it'll turn off and on in between sentences. Similar to the "humming" issue, the audio quality is just trash. I have no clue why these other reviews say it's good. Even just watching youtube videos of people talking, I couldn't even tolerate it. I used a microphone to generate an equalizer profile to fix it, and while it sounds much better, it also seriously lowers the volume (to prevent clipping), which also makes the humming worse (because I have to crank up volume to compensate). Also because this has now been assembled, I've taken the plastic protector off, etc, I can't really return it. Thankfully it wasn't too expensive, but I will now be looking for something else to replace it. Other notes: It provides no assembly directions. It's not hard to figure out, but it did result in a couple times where I had to go back, undoing what I already did because I skipped something. The power input barrel is tip (center) positive. I bought a 5.5mm X 2.5mm adapter (before this had arrived so I couldn't measure), and it does fit and work fine, but feels a little loose. The adapter plug they provide (which is meant for you to attach bare wire into) seems to be 5.5mm X 2.0mm.
