Easy and simple. A couple passes down your edges and they'll be sharp again. I recommend not using crazy pressure because this thing will file thin shavings off, you'll definitely see them. I use the 90 degree side, never the 88. The markings for the angle and direction are TINY, so I used a sharpie to make everything more obvious. ... show more

I use it about every tenth day of skiing, depending on whether I hit any rocks. I also use it if icy slopes are expected. It only takes a minute or so per edge to smooth them out, and I don't need to use a table. Perfect to give your edges a quick tune. You're not buying this to tune your board or skis for competition. This sharpener is a great tool BETWEEN those tuning sessions. Does the trick for us. Happy with it.

Most ski tuners know that your edge usually has an angle to it - this is pretty much stable 90 degrees, but does the trick for a quick tune. You can always take the file out and shave at a slight angle but that defeats the purpose of the grip. It would be super easy for Dakine to mold it with two angle options but they somehow chose not to incorporate that in their design. ... show more
