I love educational toys, anything where kids can learn while they’re enjoying what they’re learning. Not only is this functional, but a perfect way to teach them how to tell time. I got this clock for our classroom, but plan on having it prevalent wherever it ends up so that it can constantly be used to remind him how to tell time. This came packaged well and shipped promptly. If you’re looking to teach your child to tell time, this is a fun and colorful way to do it! Just so you know, this review is from an impartial opinion. This is a wall clock for kids learning to tell time. It is 11 ½” in diameter and battery-operated; 1 AA battery is not included. The hour hand and minute hand are labeled. There is a secondhand, but it is not labeled. The clock is divided into quarter hours. Each hour is identified with a color. Each minute is identified with white and black dividers. Directions and a hanging hook are included in the box. I love this wall clock. It is perfect for my third-grade classroom. It has silently sweeping hands. We work on telling time and elapsed time in third grade, this is a great supplement to my math curriculum. I highly recommend this learning enhancer.

The media could not be loaded. At first glance, this clock seems amazing! And it really is close to a perfect clock for learning. It’s 12” which is plenty big to be easily readable and has nicely laid out markings for telling the difference between hours and minutes. But as some other reviewers pointed out, the hour “bands” should have been shifted so that they started at the hour, instead of sitting in the middle of the hour. The biggest issue with mine was that the hour hand was loose! (See video). It kept time but if it was bumped, it would move a few hours. I almost threw it away, but I decided to take it apart instead (not too hard) and I was able to press on the hour hand to re-seat it. Haven’t had that issue since. So I subtracted one star for the number band issue and one for having to fix it.

I love this clock for teaching time. It has bright colors to attract the eye. The clock face is set up so that after explaining that an hour is made of 60 minutes, you can go around the perimeter of the clock and see the numbers and count them. The hour numbers are easy to read since they stand out against in each colored block of time. The hour hand and minute hand are labeled to help the child remember which is which and they are color coded as well. It has other features that make it a wonderful tool as well. I highly recommend this clock for helping a child learn how to tell time.

My 4 year old loves this clock. He is already learning how to tell time because of it. The paint around the rim is coming off but that is because I allow him to play with it.

We wanted to love this but the hours part just doesn’t make sense. The way the colors are blocked you would think that when the hour hand is in that color it’s that hour but no. You will have to teach a child, in our case 5 year old, that when it’s in the first half of the color block it’s the hour before and the second half of the block it’s that hour. After searching and looking at other similar clocks, there are much better ways to teach a child the hours with colors and just wish this was thought out better. Other than that, the minutes and seconds work well and are easily understood.
