This clock is extremely attractive, high quality, and silent. This would be a great kids clock if they already kind of knew how to tell time. It is not a great clock for teaching a beginner at reading time. The only reason I returned it was in trying to teach my 3.5 year old, he would get confused at how to read the hours. The colored circles around the numbers are fun but large - as soon as the hour hand touched the next circle (for example, if it was 10:40 the hour hand would start touching the 11), he would read it as 11. We ended up using another clock that had the intervals in between each number labeled as well. ... show more
