The instrument features a top plate made of select seasoned Engelmann Spruce with Maple bottom plate and sides, naturally air-dried over 10 years. Complete with a hand-carved Rock Maple bridge, the instrument is set up with Dominant strings.

DZ strad 220. The violin sounds as described. It's light weight and so is the case it comes in. I didn't try out the bow because I already have my own. Not certain which brazil wood model comes with it. Pirasto gold rosin. The sound is clear and nice. A big step up from my beginner violin.

Violin teacher was pleased with this violin. It is all wood and has nice sound. We tune it weekly. You can pay a lot more or alot less, this was a good compromise for us. We ordered 1/16 size
