My husband enjoys cooking outside a lot. He loves to grill and cook on his Blackstone. Often times we have to worry about stains or clean up on the patio though. When I saw this mat I thought this will be great. I wasn't sure what I was getting but the mat met all expectations. It is large enough to meet the needs of his Blackstone and it also came in handy when he decided to use his outdoor fryer. This mat has caught all the debris and is still brand new. The mat is thick and doesn't kink up when using it. It is very easy to transport from one area to another. The clean-up is a breeze. I guess it keeps grease off the patio but I don't think it will offer any heat protection for a deck. I'm not sure what I expected. It is a thin mat with crappy binding around the edges. It catches drippings from the grill and I think that is the purpose. I think I expected a rubber mat but this is closer to a plastic drop cloth. It's thicker than a piece of polyethylene but not as thick as a canvas painters drop cloth. It's some type of woven material with a rubber coating. Still it works pretty good so I'll give it 4 stars for functionality. It really would be better without the edge binding which just looks bad over time. At the end of the day I don't have grease and charcoal ash on the patio so I'm happy about that. The picture is after a couple of years of use.

Kind of surprised at the great quality of this mat for the price. Its well made, easy to maintain, and works as advertised. Nice addition to our smoking section, and customer service is great. It's held up great thru the rain, cold, sun, we've been using this once or twice a week, and so far its great. Customer service reached out to us which is nice to make sure we were happy with our purchase, and to let us know how to reach them if there are any issues. Don't find this much these days from a lot of companies, at least this one remembers what customer service means.

I bought this to go underneath my Kamado Joe Jr. which I use on my composite deck. Plenty big enough, and lightweight, easy to fold up after use. Just hose off if it gets dirty. This mat does work, I have had the lump charcoal pop and fall on mat, with no scorching or burn through. Works perfectly for protecting my composite deck. At first I was leary about it being so thin, but the mat is very tough and does not melt or burn. It may burn if you toss it into a bonfire, but I don't think I will use my deck for a weinie roast!! Just use common sense if you use the mat like I do, on the deck and don't leave it unattended....

The best part of the mat is how easy it is to clean. I bought this to keep splatters and drips from our Blackstone griddle from staining our concrete patio. I didn't have to wait long to test it out. After dripping some sugary marinade on it the first night I had it out—the marinade easily came off after a quick hose down. One other small benefit was how well it unrolled after shipping. I was worried it might have too much memory and would need to be weighted down to get it flat for use, but it went down nice and flat right after opening it. Overall, I think this is a great investment to keep your grilling area clean and tidy.
