  • Works perfectly like the original carb used to on my 1992 Softail. Unbelievable value!!
I bought this carburetor to replace my original carb on my 1992 Heritage Softail thai I bought new back in 1992. I was reluctant to replace my original Harley Carb with a Chinese knock-off, but I needed to get the bike running fast and I didn't feel like rebuilding my old carb again. I was totally amazed with the end result. After installing this carb, which fit perfectly, the bike started right up and ran as well as it ever has in my 33 years of ownership. While I was skeptical at first, because the slider didn't feel as smooth as the stock one, and past experiences with chinese parts has been lackluster, the bike fired into life and ran like new. What's more amazing to me is the price. An original harley carb is about $800. This one was $43, came with fuel filters, fuel line, cleaners and even two spark plugs. I don't know how they build and sell such a decent product at this crazy price point, but it was cheaper to replace the carb than for me to rebuild the old one. I've only run a single tank of gas through it so far, so i can't tell you about the long term reliability, but the first tank of gas has been flawless. While I was relucted to "taint" this 'American' bike with cheap, foreign parts, I have zero regrets. If this carb stays reliable over time, this will be a total win! ... show more

  • For what you payed, can't beat it.
I was contemplating 3 stars or 5 stars, but settled with 5. I have a 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom. This carb fit perfectly, no issues with that, the bike runs great and I'd certainly recommend buying the carburetor. That being said, I did need to cannibalize a few parts from the old carb, mainly around the throttle cable area. The plate for idle screw had to be bent so the screw would touch it. Had to swap out the new spring for the old spring and a plunger (?) which would be parts 31 and 33. Now, the diagram shows part 25 which I didn't see on the new carb because part 31 wasn't inserted where it should've been, so could've fallen out some point. Instead of using the old spring and plunger, I could've just used a small washer if available, I settled with swapping in the old parts. She fired up beautifully! You could spend $400 on a new carb from Harley, or wherever. Or you could spend less than $50 bucks on Amazon, spend a little time tweaking things into place, and have a great running bike. I'll save the old carb for parts, likely rebuild it later on. BTW, I didn't need to adjust the air/fuel screw. They've got it cranked 2.5 turns out which had the bike running beautifully. You will need to adjust the idle screw once you get the new carb in place... especially if you need to bend things into alignment. Happy customer here. ... show more

  • Runs well after some tweaks
Carburetor made my road king run better than it ever has after some work. The entire squirter assembly was full of fine aluminum shavings from machining. I could never get the squirter to work due to the passages having this in them, luckily the squirter assembly is all contained in the bowl so I used my old bowl on the new carb. After some jet changes and fiddling my bike runs excellent well worth the price, just keep in mind you likely won’t be able to throw it on out of the box and go. ... show more

  • Say goodbye to expensive parts!
What a great product! I was skeptical but I trusted the positive reviews and I’m glad I did! Just installed this on my 2001 dyna fxd after swapping 42/170 jets for 48/190 which came supplied I checked the float level and it was within spec. Installed it and on dirty old plugs and minor idle adjusting the bike fires right up and rips with more power than it has ever had before. I was pleasantly surprised to find how well build and assembled the carb is and all the extra filters, hoses and plugs were really nice addition. I highly recommend this carb!!! ... show more

  • Very suprised!
1999 Dyna Glide. I don't write reviews. However, in this case I'm kind of compelled. I bought a gasket and jetting kit off of Amazon to rebuild the carb on my bike as it did not start this spring. My bad for not putting it away correctly, I guess. In dis-assembly, I found the accelerator pump had disintegrated over the winter so I changed that along with reseating jets and cleaning, etc. No go. It fired but would not run. I then looked for OEM carb (used or new) and was willing to accept the cost, if needed. I happened to see this carburetor on Amazon and took a chance based on other reviews. I had very low expectations based on price. To my surprise, the carburetor is very high quality. I set the air/gas mix and idle before installing it. Took a couple cranks to fill the bowl, but then it started right up. Amazed, yes I am.... Hopefully it will endure and I'll do a better job this fall putting it away for the winter. Hoping for the best for next spring! Don't be nervous about buying this one, it's basically a plug and play! ... show more

  • Just works
Would recommend if you’re dealing with carb issues. Threw in the right jets for my setup and started right up and rides great.

  • Main jet overtorqued and stuck
What the title says, wanted to change main jet from 170 to 185 but the 170 is stuck and I broke the shoulders off of the flathead channel trying to twist it out. If I can't remove the 170 the entire unit is worthless to me. How hard is it to not over tighten something?
