The media could not be loaded. We love this Cargo Ship! It has been such a hit with my 2.5 year old son. First of all, the boat itself is awesome and sturdy. He loves opening and closing all of the doors, shooting the race cars down the track, and playing with the buttons (boat/car noises, music, lights). It holds his limited attention for a decent amount of time. The funny thing though is that the part he loves most is the semi truck that can drive the containers around! He loves his “car that drives the other cars.” All our containers work and he loves taking his cars in and out. The crane is really cool and adds so much to this set. I have to operate it however. I really wish that the knobs were more toddler friendly to use. My other small complaint is about the forklift. I love that it HAS a forklift, but the space where the forklift could lift the containers is too small to fit the containers. Also, the hook is too small to hook onto the little red piece that fits on the top of the containers that the crane uses. If I was to make a recommendation, I would say to use the same hook that is on the crane and to widen the space so the forklift could carry the containers too! The forklift is already a bit too large for the scale of the playset and that would have been easily forgiven if it meant it could move the containers! I digress. My son plays with the forklift on its own as a result, since it doesn’t move the containers, which is fine. It’s still a hit because we didn’t already have a forklift in our collection! One last thing I’ll mention- I didn’t use the stickers with “eargo shlp” on them- was it supposed to say “cargo ship?” And I also didn’t use the stickers for the flags that say “war ship” since it’s not a war ship lol. But the other stickers are fun and it doesn’t look like it’s missing anything without those stickers. Overall we really love this! I just wish the forklift could move the containers and that the crane knobs could be used by a toddler. 4.5 stars.

Pros and cons of this toy— Pros: this is a gigantic cargo ship with multiple interactive pieces that can definitely keep a kid or multiple kiddos entertained for hours. The material does seem sturdy enough. Cons: there is definitely a learning curve when it comes to assembling this thing and there are many pieces that don’t actually click together including the crane, so the crane commonly falls off every time the kids try to play with it so there’s no way you can actually pick up the cargo ships and the cars like it explains in the picture. In the picture, it shows the crane sitting on top of the ship as if it’s connected, but it literally just sits right on top without being able to be locked into place and we tried to superglue it into place so the kids could actually use the crane, but that didn’t work either. The cargo crates themselves are very difficult to open and it seems to be a really poor quality of plastic and the kids get sad that they can’t open it to get the cars out of the cargo boxes. So again, there are definite pros and cons to this toy. For $40 I don’t think it’s worth it especially with all of the many cons that there are so if you’re looking for a toy of this value that is actually made well enough for its price I would look elsewhere but it was fun enough for a little while.

So I ordered this toy with some trepidation as a lot of my toy kits, even from name brand companies, are quite cheap and/or fairly useless after a minute, but this one looked unique enough to make me want to try it out. It is unique and the ship is a keeper for sure. It has quite a few parts but not quite so many that they completely take over the living room floor, which is a relief, and the best part is most parts fit inside the ship which makes clean up/storage better. My almost four year old loves it he’s been playing with it for hours. He really likes the crane too but it’s admittedly a bit hard for him to use the dials correctly so he mostly just manually moves it around. I wish the dials had a crank handle as that might work better for small hands, but it works well enough regardless, so that’s good. It isn’t the most stable on the “legs” but it’s fun and sort of resembles a dinosaur itself which is fun. Normally I hate putting on stickers but these aren’t bad. I do think the directions need info about how to get to the battery compartment and where to place all the parts and stickers to up their quality game, but we figured it out eventually so not tragic without them. Hint: the top of the ship where the lights are slides off about 3 to 4” down and you can then access the battery panel with a small screwdriver (not provided) and insert two AA batteries to make ship sounds, which aren’t volume adjustable and are medium loud.

Like the title says, this set is HUGE, and comes with enough toys for a wide age range of kids. My toddler cannot get enough of this thing. That's not to say it wasn't a beast to put together, but thats also part of the fun as my son couldnt help but get his hands on it right out of the box. You get a huge boat and crane along with 6 cars AND 2 construction vehicles on top of a bunch of containers. There is enough here to keep the little ones having fun for hours. Such things like the opening doors, lights and sounds are nice little additions to detail that warrant a 5 star rating for this set. Battery is already included! I'm a father, and to me the build quality seems to be there. Usually this is something better gauged by my wife, but for me this all equals out to a great value for $40. I've seen some pretty weak lego sets going for more that would just collect dust in a closet. The music will grow on you or drive you insane. My wife went nuts.

This product comes with a lot of bang for the buck. The problem is, the nice crane is too hard to use, the little containers for the cars won't open and in general it's not a very good toy.
