- Custom Shop KEP Series Anti-Corrosive Epoxy Primer / Sealer is a 1 to 1 Mix Ratio high performance primer specifically designed to be used DTM (Direct to Metal). KEP Series Primer contains an advanced resin technology system that offers superior adhesion to Bare Metal, Steel, Bare Aluminum, Fiberglass, Gelcoat. Body Fillers and most properly prepared Rigid Plastics and sanded OEM Finishes.
- KEP Epoxy Primer is Lead and Chromate Free and its formulation contains a rich blend of Anti-Corrosive additives to achieve maximum defense against rust and corrosion. It also offers excellent salt spray resistance and is a fast dry product.
- Custom Shop KEP Series Epoxy Primer is great as a DTM primer but also can be used as an excellent sealer for all single stage Urethane and Basecoat Clearcoat. If used as a sealer add 1/2 part of XR70 or UR70 reducer, topcoat or basecoat can be applied in 30 minutes. Using KEP allows for excellent topcoat gloss holdout.
- Available in Gray, Black and White in 1 quart kits, 2 quart kits, gallon kits and 2 gallon kits. Great for Automotive and Industrial applications. KEP is compatible with and can be top coated with most Automotive Paint brands like Custom Shop, Restoration Shop, PPG, House of Kolor, Valspar, etc.

needed a small amount of epoxy primer for a project and this stuff was great. It is well worth the money. The finish came out great. It sprayed and laid very nice with a good amount of coverage.

I've been a huge fan of Custom Shop products for some time now, as I've ordered many times from TCP Global. However, this last batch of primer was extraordinarily difficult to use. The solids just would not mix. I used a drill-attached mixer, I took the can do a paint shop to have them mix it in a machine, and there was still solids at the bottom of the can that would not mix. Additional mixing with a drill attachment after having the can shaken did not help get the last significant chunks of solids to mix. Shooting the primer like this gave me a highly glossy finish (more resin, less solids), which was a royal pain to sand down. Upon contacting the seller, they assured the solids in the can were normal, and that it would mix, but was not the case. Upon looking at reviews again, this looks to be the case for a few other buyers here as well. I'm fairly certain I got a bad can of primer. Additionally, one of the two cans I received was dented, so it was VERY difficult to close the lid and create a proper seal after opening it. I'll be making the jump to Speedokote for my next batch of primer.

Yes it come with a hard black ball in it, that’s pretty typical. And a paint shaker doesn’t work well, get your paint stick out and start stabbing and poking, it will eventually dissolve and it will stay mixed or easy to mix up with a stir or two. It sands nice and hard like you want, and gave a great seal and starting point for my finish paint. I did add a little black tint for a less see through finish and highly advise, it will make it longer to cure but works well. It’s a very high quality primer at a great price point.

Works real well, good hard primer. But dries a bit slower then other primers ive used. I did the 50/50 mix ratio recommended. I do recommend it for the price and quality though.
