This grater makes medium size slices or pieces. The holes are a little bigger than what is usually found in a zester and a little smaller than what is usually in an average sized grater or shredder. The smaller holes also mean it takes longer to grate cheese toppings for a pizza or other items for an entree. The grater itself has a nice rubber handle with a good grip. I like the rubber as I can hang onto it better when I am grating. There is a hole on handle end that allow you to hang it up to store it. I found it to be small enough to fit in my silverware drawer and just pull out when I need it. The stainless steel blade area is reinforced around the edges which really helps keep it from bending as you push on it when running items across it. The end of the metal frame that holds the blade is bent slightly on the end. I found I could hook the bend over the edge of a bowl and that helped hold it still while I was grating. Though that same end has a sharp edge along the blade area. I am not sure if the sharp edge is meant to be used to slice cheese or something but you could easily cut your finger on it if you are not careful while using it or cleaning it. A cute little brush is included that can be used to clean off the blade area. It comes in handy when you have to grate more than one item. You can brush off the debris from what you first grated and then rinse the grater before grating the next item. I don’t always clean my dishes and such in the dishwasher but I like know that I can throw this grater in it if I need to. I feel the price I feel is very reasonable for this little grater.
