As an Italian we use garlic in almost every single meal and lots of it. Most require the garlic to be minced very small which is time consuming. I love this press! just scrape off the garlic into the pot and then scrape the back end to get the leftovers off. even if there is a bit left on it, it will come off easily if you run water over it. It is clear to me now that in the video used to advertise this garlic press, the garlic must somehow have been softened (cooked). The video also shows it cutting carrots; well, the carrots couldn't have been raw. They had to be cooked carrots. It takes quite a bit of strength and more time than the video shows to get the garlic to push through the holes. Having said that, this press does work better for me than the kind you have to squeeze. I had better results and it was easier to clean. After some rocking and pushing, I eventually had perfectly minced garlic. Some complained of the garlic being black. I thoroughly cleaned the press with cleanser and a scrubber before using and had no problem with black garlic.

Hands not strong enough to close the usual garlic press so tried this hoping. Does not work as I'd hoped, not able to press much garlic through. A lot of garlic stays on the bottom outside and never goes through.

This little tool is fabulous for quickly getting minced garlic. I found it quite hard to use on whole cloves but if I cut the cloves in half or fourths and used a rocking motion it worked beautifully.

I use a lot of garlic but have found presses to be more of a bother than a help :/ Best to use your sharp knife and skills. This one is different, and while not perfect, is definitely worth using: Nicely ergonomic, presses very well, great price, still a bit tricky to clean but the little cleaning brush they include removes most of the debris from the holes. It will be fabulous when using more than 1 or 2 cloves.
