I've been using the Cubot X30 for over a week now. I bought it on sale for $192. It's an interesting phone. I like the specs and features. However, this phone takes a little getting used to and has some downfalls. The reason I purchased it was because it has 8Gs of memory and 256Gs of storage and the size 6.4 in screen, and for the price, you can't beat it. The things I don't like are the power button and finger print reader are on the right side and volume up/down on the left. It takes a little getting used to compared to other android phones because you accidentally press the volume up/down or turn it off by accident. The finger print reader doesn't work that great with the cover on, but with a little practice with placing your finger in the right position, you can make it work. Face detection never works properly. When watching videos etc, the screen color is preset and no way to adjust color or contrast, only the brightness works. The sound is really good and only has 1 down firing speaker. I use a Ting mobile sim and it works fine. Connectivity and voice speaker is good. Battery charges well, and lasts pretty much all day considering it is 4200mAh. I'm still searching for an adequate camera app to get the best quality photos. With the standard installed app, the selfie camera only peaks at 8.0MP but with other apps you can get the full 32MP. The rear camera's 48 MP works well, but the wide angle and micro cameras are totally useless. If playing games, the Helio P60 processor is really pushed to its limits. So, I basically got this phone for the storage capacity for pic and video downloads. It works fast enough without lagging and the P60 is pushed to its limits. Once you get accustomed to the button layout it's a great phone. I use Spotify for music and discovered that playback can only work using Bluetooth speakers/headphones. A dongle will not work with this phone. But sound quality is surprisingly good. I do not recommend this phone as a main player but as a backup for storage content or if you just want a really good cheap smartphone. Cubot is getting better with their products. ... show more

I personally live this phone, it's a lil' smaller than the Cubot Note 20 but still has a big screen. The quickness of the operations is amazing and the pictures that this phone can take are out of this world! I did have to only give this phone 4 🌟 though because after having it for only like a week it started to exibit problems from the charger port making the bottom screen look like a faint barcode about an 1 1/2" up from the bottom screen. Although that could be my fault for watching Hulu while it's plugged in so I don't lose battery...lol. The great news is that customer service from Amazon is and has always been friggin Amazing and they have shipped me a new phone at no charge and gave me plenty of time to ship the old one back!!! All in all what I'm saying is that this phone is Definitely worth getting if your low on funds but want a AAA Phone. I've bought 3 Cubot phones now and personally I think they are worth the money paid for them! I hope this review helps anyone thinking of purchasing a Cubot Smartphone. ... show more

When I first used this phone about 10 months ago, I noticed some issues with app notifications not showing (unless I opened the app that day); Bluetooth connection; and a couple of other issues. None of these were deal breakers, and even though I didn't get a response to my inquiries to the company, I wasn't too bummed out. I bought a tempered glass screen protector and set out on a months-long journey to find a compatible phone case to protect the phone from drops and dings. The phone comes with a plastic case, but this is really only good enough to keep the back of the device from getting scratches. The first time the phone fell, about 2 months ago, the screen shattered. Even with the gorilla glass. The gorilla glass is fine. The screen underneath, shattered. I don't even know. Now the screen pops out, so I have to get a new one, I guess. I really like this phone. Even with the connectivity and app notification issues, it's a nice device. But the company REALLY needs to commission a protective case that's compatible with this model otherwise it isn't worth purchasing. ... show more

    • Dead at 5 months BEWARE
TLDR; charging port crapped out at 5 months, 1987 wants it's camera back, it only does 3G not 4lte - it is a fantastic $200 paperweight, but only for small stacks of paper. It has been 5 months and the charging port is completely shot and I can't charge my phone. No way to contact the seller it seems either which is unfortunate. $200 for a phone that only worked for 5 months is absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE if you want to use it for more than 5 months. The charging port is cheaply made and not at all durable. I only charge my phone at night while it is on the desk. There is no reason the charging port should be so loose it no longer takers a charge. CAMERA - absolutely horrific. No picture is clear, even if you are completely still and your subject is a rock. FINGERPRINT READER - when it works it's neat, but when it doesn't it's a frustrating process to open your phone. BATTERY LIFE - the battery life actually isn't bad ... If you can charge it. Also note that most phone companies will not be able to help you trouble shoot any problems you should run into when it comes to your phone getting proper service because they don't have the manual or know about the phone. It claims to be 4lte but in 5 months I only ever got 3G and att explained it was because the phone will not allow anything more than 3G. Att is disabling their 3G towers (who even uses 3G anymore?) and this phone would have been a paperweight come October anyway. ... show more
