This is a set of 4 Chamfer router bits at $15 at the time of the review. The short review is that it is worth the money, if you have a small project or think you'd only use this a few times a year this is a great starter set to have. The 1/4 shank fits my Ryobi hand router and creates a clean and crisp cut every time. The bit did not heat up significantly initially but after a few use I noticed it does get a bit hotter than it used to after a bit of use. These are definitely priced on the cheap side of things, especially as one bit alone can cost $20 on up. However, I kept that in mind when I used these bits and frankly, they performed well on the pine and oak test pieces. There is bit more chatter than what I would like to hear but that disappeared as I slowed down on the pass. I really think this set is perfect for a beginner woodworker as they do perform well enough to get the job done and one doesn't have to break the bank to own a set of common router bits. ... show more

First, these bits are well made, work great, and I think will last a long time so I'm very pleased with them. The one thing I hate is buying drill bits, router bits, really any kind of accessory attachments for any of my tools that come without a case. They just end up floating around in one of my tool drawers. But now I've found what I hate even more than buying bits without cases, and that's buying bits that are in cases that you can't get out!! I don't know what the deal is, but I have never seen any kind of bits or blades that were so difficult to get out of the case! If you've ever had a little girl around, I'm talking "getting a Barbie out of cardboard box" level of difficult here! I found it very maddening and waited to do a review because I was so frustrated that the case would have killed the entire review of the bits and that simply isn't a fair review. These bits come in a good box for storage on a shop shelf. It’s sturdy and doesn’t take up much real estate. This is a good selection of commonly used bits. The bits were sharp on delivery. The spindles moved freely and I think I even felt some lubrication on some of them. I tried them on some soft woods and MDF and they all performed well. The cuts were smooth as long as I went slow, and they bit the wood nicely. Not sure how they would hold up on harder woods and you may want a half inch bit set for those anyway. For my needs, these were good enough. They aren’t are durable as some of the more expensive ones I’ve used so these are more hobbyist level. If you are a high production shop or use these things all day every day, you will for sure want to upgrade to a more expensive set with a name brand reputation. This is a great starter set for someone just getting into it, or even for a more veteran woodworker who wants some replacement or backup bits. ... show more

I have started to use more chamfers in my woodworking. These bits fit great in my trim router. I like that they came in a nice plastic box. They cut nice, sometimes I need to get a spot twice but nothing crazy. I'm glad to have them in my kit.
