The island arrived very well packed and great assembly instructions. The second package with the granite top was also well packed , in wood, but unfortunately the top was split in two. Contacted customer support, told them the problem, uploaded photos and boom, they sent a replacement top. Pretty sure the first top was split during transport. Well packaged and arrived undamaged even the stone top. Lot of part to assemble but for once someone wrote the instrcution that actually knew english. I was really looking forward to getting this kitchen island, but it was disappointing in so many ways. The description is misleading. Most of this kitchen island is *not* solid hardwood. Only the small panels and rods for the spice rack and towel holder, and palm-sized corner sections to reinforce the bottom of the baseboards are made of hardwood. The rest is flimsy plywood. In fact, the baseboard came damaged; there was a 2" crack in a corner (where part of the packaging was damaged during shipment. Customer service was rude. I called Crosley since the instructions say that you should contact them instead of the seller. So I went to the website and tried to fill out a form for defective parts. The form was nonfunctional. I called customer service and waited 10 minutes to talk to someone. That person asked me for the part numbers, which I tried to give according to the instruction manual. The associate kept pressing me to give them the part number in the instruction manual, but there was none. He spoke to me as if I didn't know how to read. (See pics for lack of part numbers in instruction manual.) This exact kitchen island was listed for about $285 on Home Depot's website in Sept 2017. But it was sold out when I checked again in Oct 2017, so I bought this one. It's definitely not worth $450. Damaged hardware parts. See pics. Incorrect panel size, which left a gap between a panel and sideboard. See pic. My advice is to get a different kitchen island under $300, or spend money on a better kitchen island, or go to IKEA (its stuff seems to get better as the years go by). ... show more

    • Just what I needed
I needed a kitchen island of a specific size with a high quality countertop, some storage space underneath, that looked like a nice piece of furniture, at a price that fit my budget. This fit the bill. Sure it's not solid mahogany or cherry, and yeah the doors and drawers aren't heavy, but honestly, the fit and finish is pretty tight. It's not wobbly, the drawers & doors operate smoothly, and the granite top is rather nice. And most importantly, the piece is very attractive. The cabinet space is not huge, but they provide dimensions here...you know what you're getting. As for assembly, I'll say with complete confidence that the reviewer complaining about the size and function of the screws, either he/she was doing something wrong, or the company has since corrected what parts they provide. Assembly took a whole evening, but if you lay out your pieces before you begin, and follow the directions as they are, it's not really in any way challenging. There are a lot of parts, and I found it to be a 2-person job. 1 person to do the assembly, and 1 person to kind of play nurse...locate the requested parts as they come up in the directions, and hold up pieces while the other person is tightening screws. But again, it's not hard. Just time-consuming. I'm satisfied with my purchase! ... show more

My wife and I have a small kitchen area and we just wanted something that would give us just a little more much needed counter space and some additional storage space. This product easily satisfies these 2 conditions and at the same times adds much beauty to the kitchen. Our home is only a 1600 square foot home and again we felt we just needed something a little additional. As far as the assembly goes, I did this after having a couple of surgeries slowly, but very carefully. The booklet that comes with all the parts neatly packed is excellent with pictures of exactly how to assemble everything. I recommend forget how fast you can do something and just go about it the right way with patience and knowing in the long run, you will have exactly what you ordered. Again, I had in my frame of mind, to take my time and do it right especially after a few major surgeries. Yes, I may have spent an additional hour or so longer than other reviews here due to breaks, etc. but I am very, very pleased as so is my wife with this product. No qualms whatsoever folks.. NONE. YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR NEW PIECE OF FURNITURE SOON.. One thing I should of mentioned is probably it would be better if you had a good Allen wrench instead of the one provided for recessed areas. I love the color & style. Was a little smaller than I thought, the drawls when you open them only open half way so done plan on filling it up or you can’t reach it. I thought about sending back but the quality is good and I can use it on a wall instead of an island. Over all I rate it a 7 out of 10.
