“Mary Janes” were not originally women’s or girls shoe. They were originally sold for boys and girls; sometime around the beginning of the 20th century, the Brown Shoe Company (named after the cartoon character Buster Brown) sold these T-strap or T-bar shoes mostly to school children of either sex. Only after the name, Mary Jane, became popular in America, did they gradually become associated with girls. However, for years after, that many British and other European schoolboys still wore shoes with this kind of strap across the top of the foot. I intend to bring back this unisex style as sex, and in fact, crocs sizing usually indicate both a men’s and women’s size in their adult shoes. For those who have never gotten sold on Crocs, especially those who think the they don’t support high arches or really the rest of the foot very well, this model is particular shoe, feels more strongly constructed, more capable of cradling and cushioning the feet. I took them on their maiden voyage tonight, a walk approximately half mile each direction in the rain to the store. I wore socks with them and they neither slipped nor caught me short with sudden friction, as I have sometimes experienced with the base model of Crocs. I got 1 size larger than the size I have usually taken (7-9 instead of 6-8) but that was because I planned to wear them with socks, in winter, while the 6-8 size is good for summer without socks. In fact, though there is a bit of extra room in the toe box, the footbed feels very comfortable and secure despite the lack of strap available to slide over the heel. I’d say these are a better quality, more supportive shoe than the base model Croc, and the higher price is justified by more than just a cutesie stylistic look. I ordered these after the purple velvet ones sold out-nearly immediately it seemed! But I am not in the least disappointed! Crocs are always comfy so when a deep wine colored velvet-like surface is on these cuties-it is a stroke of brilliant design and comfort combined which means value for the cost. They are dressy enough to wear with date clothes and zingy enough to wear with jeans or leggings. I hope Crocs keeps making shoes like this-artsy, stylish, comfortable and just COOL!! ... show more

I was so lucky to find these shoes on Amazon because this leopard print style was sold out in my size on Tiktok and also on the Crocs website. And now I understand why....... they are so cute and stylish in person. And the comfort! 10 out of 10....I highly recommend you to get some for yourself! This style runs a tiny bit narrower than the clogs, and sits higher on the foot. I've run into this with Crocs when I've ordered different styles, so ordered a size up. They feel secure when walking, but you can't see my toes through the holes since I sized up. I think they're really cute, but don't know if I'll keep them since they don't fit me properly. ... show more

When I first purchased them, I notice they were a size took large, even thought I wear a size 8. For some reason, it took a month to get the size 8 shoes, so I was disappointed needing to return them. However, I reordered the size 7 shoes and got them in two days. I was so excited. I've been wear them since. They are so cute. I wear them inside for now, but I'm nervous about wearing them outside, due to wear and tear.
