I bought this to replace a standard, black cast iron pan. This is much easier to clean and is a perfect size. This works for everything I need a 9x13" pan for. The enameling is perfect, no scratches or dings. I think some of the other complaints are from the cheaper used ones. This one came in it's original box, all the foam and such intact. The handles are nice and large, making it easy to handle (with hot pads/gloves, of course). I replaced all of my black cast iron with enameled. I have an enameled cast iron pan similar to this that my mom gifted me 20 years ago. Around the holidays, i usually lament that I've only got one. This year, after Thanksgiving dinner, I decided to look for another one and happened on this gorgeous Crock Pot offering. It's slightly larger than the one I've used hundreds of times and deeper, which is an absolute plus. It just arrived this week (two weeks earlier than quoted, thankfully) and has been used twice. Tonight, I made my traditional potatoes au gratin with ham chunks with leftover ham from thanksgiving. That extra 1/2" depth is noticeable, as I made the typical amount of mornay sauce, sliced the usual amount of potatoes and there was ample room at the top. No boilover! My other pan has handles, but I like the design of these much better, as I can get a grip around them with the potholders. My husband commented that he's looking forward to the next lasagna being made in this pan. Crock pot, would you consider making a 9" square pan next? ... show more

I was hesitant about this cast iron pan due to some negative reviews and good price but it did not disappoint. For Christmas I bought a prime rib roast and had read that a cast iron roasting pan would ensure even heating. Overall these pans are large and expensive but I found this smaller one at a good price which was perfect for my 5 lb. roast. It was advertised as pre-seasoned and had no instructions on what to do before first use so this is what I did. First I washed it gently in warm water with a small amount of dish soap then patted it dry. I added a light coat of avocado oil (the only high heat oil I had on hand) and left it. My roast was boneless so I used a small roasting rack under it and followed the roasting instructions for medium rare. I've cooked several prime rib roasts before and they have never come out as good as this one! I'm really glad I bought it and do recommend it. ... show more

This is a good cast iron pan that I was very excited to use. Cast iron is what I use almost exclusively. I ordered this for making lasagnas and deep dishes. It came in good time. Right before using it though, I was about to season it when I noticed it is cracked all the way through as shown in the pictures. So disappointed!!!!!!!! Now I’m not sure what to do with it. I can’t use it, but it’s so big and heavy it would be a total hassle to return it. What to do?!? Im sure it would have been a great addition to my kitchen. I just happened to get a dud. ... show more
