  • Excellent Scout Scope
Style: 2.5-8x28mm Pistol BDC Pro
This is my first Crimson Trace rifle scope. I have the model labeled as a Pistol Scope (BDC). Great, solid construction. Using it as a scout scope on a Mosin Nagant 91/59 (a Mosin 91/30 that the Soviets cut down to a carbine size in the late 1950's and issued to their Forest Service folks and Border Guards). Sighted it in at 100 yards and then got first shot hits on steel plates at 200, 250, 300, 400, and 435 yards. Those shots were with the diamond shaped drop points. The eye relief is unforgiving (especially at the highest magnification - 8X). You have to spend some time mounting it perfectly and checking the eye relief for your own personal setup. That is true of every scout scope I have used. No stars off for that. One star off for the confusing product literature in the box and info on CT's website. The reticle guide both inside the box and on the web page for this particular scope is misleading. It doesn't explicitly address the drop points for handguns calibers. Instead, the chart shows it being for a .308 caliber cartridge. Come on Crimson Trace, would it be that difficult to print up a separate reticle guide for this scope that doesn't include a drop chart? All that is needed is a picture showing the reticle and the MIL/MOA distances from center for all the points of the BDC diamonds. ... show more

  • Best bang for your optic buck.
Style: 4-12x40mm Plex
Very clear and bright, eye box while not great at 12x its more good enough. Well made durable, tracks very well did a 16" x 4 box test and it did quite well. Scope adjustments are both audible and tactile. Handles recoil very well as it sits atop a CVA Cascade in 450 Bushmaster and after 120+ rounds is working perfectly. If you are in the market for a basic short range duplex reticle scope for anything from a 22lr to a 12 slug rifle this is the best scope for the price I've found. Lastly NOT made in Communist China, VERY important to me. ... show more

  • 'SalGoodMan
Style: 2-7x32mm BDC Rimfire
this optic (along with all the other Hardline, Brushline and the Pro equivalents) is made int the Philippines - the "little" country that could. The craftsmanship is par with that of Nikon and Vortex and the glass, well in my opinion, it's actually slightly better than Nikon. If I had any criticisms it would be that the reticle’s height indicators on the rimfire model are a bit too small – they need to be beefed up a bit, and secondly, no parallax adjustment and no reticle illumination. But the knob modulations for both windage and height are uncharacteristically good for this segment as well as the glass and the finish. I paired mine with Winchester (Browning) Wildcat cause it matches the red accents – look and function in one. Add the lifetime warranty and bottom line is – you get a lot for your money. I’ll get another one before people start realizing they don’t have to pay the “big” bucks for the Nikon/Vortex models ... show more

  • Super awesome scope!
Style: 3-12x42mm BDC Pro (30mm tube)
I've been shooting with scopes since I was 12 I'll be 57 in a minute. I'm crazy mad that I didn't buy 2 When I had the chance to get them at $143.00 Once I got the scope And realized it's the real deal I went back for another and the best price I found $195.00 still a deal for this quality for sure but not the $143.00. If this scope holds up long term Crimson trace scopes could be my new go to Not kidding!!! What would have been super cool would of been If The scope Came with Rings Of the same quality That would been having your cake and eating it too. Be safe teach a child to be safe and keep shooting my friends and grow our shooting sports!!!! BA BAM!!!! ... show more

  • PACKAGE MALLED
Style: 3-12x42mm Plex
This is my second Brushline Pro, happy with my 2.5x10, the 3x12 is overall a nice optic, however the item packaging was destroyed additionally the scope cover is not close to the correct size- I expected better. I hope the scope internally was not damaged in packing and shipping.

  • Crimson Trace Brushline Pro - 2.5-10x42 Do Not Purchase
Style: 2.5-10x42mm Plex
Crimson Trace Brushline Pro 2.5-10x 42 Plex I made this purchase from Amazon. Upon inspection, I found the Crimson Trace to have fairly good optics: multicoated, with allegedly ELD glass. There are no aberrations, as edge to edge clarity is excellent. There are Positive clicks on the turret knobs which are resettable to zero. The magnification selector ring, diopter adjustment, and turret caps are of a high grade rubber. The weight is a tad heavy, yet the coating seems very good. Fit and finish is excellent, as the scope is made in the Philippines. The F.O.V. seems extremely small @2.5. and F.O.V. @10 seems there is “no” change. It is allegedly shockproof, so hopefully it will maintain zero from a .300 Win Mag. Have not field tested as yet. I contacted customer service ‘twice’ via telephone inquiring on the F.O.V. and not any could answer the question. When I mentioned that I would never purchase a Crimson Trace rifle scope again, then, Crimson trace sent me an email stating they would bring those details to the so-called ‘engineers’. Customer service is at a loss to really bring any technical details to the consumer, rather they seem to be lost. Actually, I never heard from customer service personnel again, when they sent the email relating to F.O.V. I’ve never heard of an optics maker “not” providing the F.O.V. Moving forward, @10x there is some degradation to clarity, whereby even a Bushnell is far better. Some equate the Crimson Trace Brushline Pro to a grade under Leupold VXII. Something seems not to be right with the glass, as having ‘no’ gradient tint. The glass is only one factor in determining the quality of a rifle scope. The internal parts are a great factor adjoined to the glass. We would not recommend this rifle scope or any of Crimson Trace’s products. Purchase one and then tell me I’m a liar. The one I purchased will be sold as soon as possible. This is one of the worst scopes I’ve ever purchased. Even China produces far better optics. Rating “Zero”. ... show more
