Came in perfect condition. The game itself is really fun. It has a lot to explore/ do, some interesting new mechanics, combat is very satisfying, and the story is fairly interesting. Cons: If you are not a puzzle fan do be warned the main quest has a ton. These required ones aren’t especially hard but as someone who isn’t really into the puzzle aspect of rpgs it can be a bit annoying. The voice acting is not the best, they sound great but often void of emotion. Kind of like they have good voices but are just reading the lines. Sometimes when you save it puts you a bit further back, I think they do this to prevent people from saving halfway through a puzzle etc. but it can be a bit disorientating when you log back in. Pros: gathering animals as companions is extremely fun and adds a gotta catch em’ all aspect! The bounty system is SO FUN! It reminds me of red dead redemption! Overall this game just has A TON of content. The world also doesn’t feel dead, when you explore there is a lot to keep you engaged verses some open worlds that make it feel like a chore to get from point a to b. The game has a TON of different things to do: fishing, crafting, fighting, bounties, befriending animals, mining, etc. Lastly the game itself is BEAUTIFUL! Overall I definitely recommend it. It is fun. It is not my favorite rpg ( Witcher 3 still holds that) BUT I am really enjoying it and it definitely fills that itch.

It’s a good, fun game with lots to do. Could almost also be classified as a type of medieval-lofe sim in some instances, along with adventure game. Yes, it does have a bit of a learning curve when it comes to the controls but for a seasoned gamer it won’t be a problem. So far, though I haven’t yet beaten it, I find the story a bit lacking but not completely un-engaging. It’s pretty cliche so far but I’m still enjoying my time exploring the vast world and doing quests.

I didn't expect to like this game as much as I did. Once you get used to the controls, it's really not difficult. The story is interesting, and the world is beautiful. If you like swords and sorcery, with a lot of exploration, I highly recommend this.

I have played this game for hours now and I am still learning new things. There are quests of course but there are also puzzles, hidden areas, crafting/cooking, camp building, weapon upgrades and animal taming just to give you an idea of a few fun features. I don't want to say too much as you will want to discover for yourself without any spoilers.

I’ve spent just over 100 hours in this game, played through the story mode, and want to write an honest review of my time spent with the game Anyone who knew me and talked to me about this games knows I had a bit of a rocky start, and an ongoing love/hate relationship with this one. Lets get into it… The Good One of the best aspects of this game is the shear amount of activities and options in the game. You can truly tailor your experience however you want. The weapon and armor customization and fighting styles, with abyss gears, dyes and abyss artifact leveling, is unmatched by any game in my opinion. Right from the start of the game, if you’re willing to risk the adventure, high level gear is available to be found. This makes exploration really enjoyable and rewarding, you never know what kind of gear you will find. Going a little further into the game customization, if you want to be a fisherman, you can, or a farmer, or a thief, or an investor, or…. the options are numerous. When my friends and I talked about our experiences while playing this game, it almost felt like we were talking about different games, our paths were so different, the options seem near endless, and it’s awesome. Let’s not forget Pearl Abyss’s commitment to giving the players the best experience possible. It felt like every time I booted the game, I had to download an update. Now this may sound like a bit much, but it speaks volumes to their dedication to the game and reflects well on the company. I hope other developers will take notes, this is how it’s done. There are some features that seemed to be missed during these updates, but more on that below. The Bad As mentioned above, Pearl Abyss pushed out a lot of updates to the game, but they seemed to miss the mark on one of the biggest issues, the controls! Having the axiom be L3 is a terrible idea, I cannot tell you how many times I was in a heated battle and I accidentally deployed my axiom. And guess what, you cannot attack when that is deployed, not a good combination. All they needed to do was to allow me to swap that button with the run button, or even the lock on button, but that option never came. Another control issue I had was that the run and tackle buttons were the same button. I would free a slave in a camp, then try to run to the next area of interest, only to tackle the slave that I just rescued, and then get charged with assault, what the heck! Another notable mention in this category is the camera controls. I messed around a lot with the camera controls, and they still sucked during some boss battles. My camera would get stuck looking at a corner of the battlefield, cannot see myself or the boss, next thing I know, I’m dead. I don’t know how to prevent this, I tried so many options. The battle with the crow caller was awful, the camera was all over the place, hard to control the battle when this is so random. The camera made this boss the hardest one in the game for me! The Ugly Puzzles…oh man, the puzzles! At the beginning of the game, most of these are optional in certain areas. By the end of the game, EVERYTHING is a puzzle. This is the main reason why I have moved on from the game after beating the story, I don’t want to complete another Crimson Desert puzzle in my life… The problem has multiple layers, there are simply too many puzzles first off. Secondly, the solutions to the puzzles are near impossible to find, its easier to simply ask the internet, which I did…A LOT! But even with the internet’s help, if you don’t turn this dial, or that statue, to the exact pixel-perfect position, the puzzle will not be completed. This was awful. There is a required puzzle at the end of the game, I spent over an hour trying to solve it, gave up and consulted the internet. It took me another 20 minutes or so to figure out how to “reset” the puzzle to the internet’s starting point, and then another 10 minutes to watch the video multiple times to ensure I wasn’t going to mess it up! Maybe someone would find this enjoyable, but I honestly don’t see how. Conclusion Well, there it is, my review of Crimson Desert. I obviously enjoyed this game as I spent over 100 hours playing it, but it is not flawless. In my opinion, the goods outweigh the bads and the uglies. This game is worth a playthrough, if for nothing else but to experience the gorgeous landscapes that can be found throughout the world. You’ll really want to do some exploration. If you stick to just the main story, you will miss out on a lot of the game.

Crimson Desert is an impressive open-world experience that really feels built for current-gen consoles. The world is huge, detailed, and constantly rewarding exploration, with dynamic events and beautiful environments that keep things interesting. Combat stands out the most it feels impactful, fast, and surprisingly deep compared to typical action RPGs. The story and characters grow on you as you progress, and there’s a huge amount of content beyond the main quest, from exploration to side activities and progression systems. It can feel a little overwhelming at first, but once everything clicks, the game becomes incredibly engaging. Overall, this is a bold and ambitious RPG that delivers hours of adventure and some truly memorable moments. Definitely worth playing if you enjoy large open-world games.
