i have some at my job that i imagine are high dollar crimpers. These work almost as well as those with one exception which is why i docked 1 star. The part that crimps over the insulation doesnt get squeezed quite enough to fit into the black housings. after crimping i have to give it a little squeeze with some pliers, then it clicks right into the black piece. given the price difference between these and "brand name" crimpers i can live with it. ... show more

The ratcheting crimp tool works like a charm, plenty of help online to use. A really good assortment of connectors, better than a lot of others sets. I don't really use ribbon cable with these, just 24 gauge silicon hookup wire & it makes a strong connection. Cons- 1. The handle is kind of small and it makes it harder when you get into those 10 and 8 gauge ferrules. 2. There's not a black ferrule in each of the sizes provided. Instead of providing 50 16 gauge white why not do 25 16 gauge white and 25 16 gauge black and repeat this for each color provided. I bought this for my job, I’ve only used it a few times since I’ve gotten it a few months ago which I expected since I bought it for the special situation of crimping f-type rg6 fittings inside electrical outlet boxes with not enough coax. Don’t expect to use this as your number 1 crimping tool if you’re looking into this sort of thing, but it’s super handy when you need it. The prongs on the end that crimp down the plastic on the fitting don’t move so easily. I wish there was a spring action there that would keep them open until you load the crimper, I have to manually open them each time. Also the adjustable head on it never stays in one place. I know it’s probably adjustable because of the multiple connector type attachments, but it is annoying to be afraid of loosing that little screw that makes the whole thing work. If you’re like me and only use it for crimping rg6 then gorilla glue would fix that no problem once you set it to the correct length. Other than that, it’s not bad to have handy ... show more

I do car audio installs, and this kit is a life saver! It is perfect for hooking up amplifiers safely, so you don't have any loose wires that could cause a short. The tool is sturdy, and well built, and it comes with just about all the ferrule's one could need for installs. The only thing I was disappointed with, was it did not come with any 4 gauge ferrule's. Good stuff for the price. I wish it would crimp a little tighter so fatter insulation would squish enough to get into the connectors. Works fine with 24 gauge and wires with less insulation. Find a decent video on how to use these, though. I borked about 20 pins before I found some good instructions (check the mpcnc forum for Jeff's video). I've done about half the pins now and only had to redo two plugs. ... show more

This is the way to do DuPont connectors. I struggled for years using pliers and other odd crimpers. Of course I had issues getting the CSI Jets into the housings. Appears to be a quality tool, however, there are no instructions for use. Has a line drawing of the tool in the back of the package but no explanation of the different parts. Needs written instructions.
