  • Excellent Lathe! Excellent Customer Service!
I usually receive merchandise in perfect condition and would have except the tailstock came loose in shipping causing some damage to it. I sent Creworks a message and photos and they immediately shipped me a new tailstock. I'm very happy with Creworks! I've been using the lathe and I'm very happy with it. I would definitely buy this again from Creworks. The lathe arrived pretty clean with no rust at all. I really didn't have to do too much to get it ready for use. I did mount my lathe up on blocks so I can easily slide the tray out to clean it. The mounting holes in the tray didn't quite line up with the holes in the base of the lathe where the lathe needs to sit in the tray, so this solved that problem too. I used to have a smaller Harbor Freight lathe. It was good but it chattered on steel, so I eventually upgraded to this heavier and larger one which does much better with steel. You can see in the photo I updated the tool post to a quick change post. I had a friend mill off the pedestal on top of the compound rest under the stock tool post, mill a hole for the larger quick change tool post bolt which I then tapped, and mill 5mm off the base of the cross slide. This puts my 1/2 inch cutting tools about 2.5 mm below the turning axis with adjustable height control. I don't see how one can really use a stock tool post with 1/4 to 1/2 inch cutting tools and shims very conveniently, so I definitely recommend milling the compound rest and cross slide as I had done and converting to a quick change post. I wish the manufacturers would make these lathes with quick change posts. I don't enjoy wasting a perfectly good standard tool post. ... show more

  • Terrible product
No replacement parts in case something breaks, no customer service that I could A) find and B) get ahold of. If you want a lathe don’t get this one, had it for a while but now I can’t even put the gears on because the piece holding them there broke. And out of the box I had to adjust and bend back the safety cover to make it turn on because it bent during shipping. Other than that, it spins, loudly even when bolted down, but it spins. ... show more

  • ok hobby lathe
Everything is rough about this lathe. Very sticky. You will have to stone and clean everything. The cross slide needs to be milled, drilled and tapped if you want to use an AXA quick change. The tail stock does not line up. The variable speed is nice and it has adequate power. Cannot lube headstock bearings. There are more accessorized versions of this lathe with power cross feed and a QC gearbox i.e. Precision Mathews but cost much more. Ok hobby lathe. ... show more

  • Good n tight
The media could not be loaded. I bought the 9x24 and wrote a bad review on it I guess Amazon removed it and I went to rewrite it but it says I can’t write a review from this account? Wow ! So I guess reviews at Amazon are ok if there 4 or 5 stars . So to be honest do not buy one of these lathes within one year my electronics burned up with no way to get any replacement parts I had to go another route with a different motor and control board I will put some pics up ... show more
