  • A step up from most Chinese lathes
Very solid lathe! I did change the tool holder to a quick change post, which makes tool changes almost instant. But beyond that, running it stock and getting great results!

  • Dissatisfied
My name is BOBBY COKER and I own this CREWORKS CT2260A 9" X24" mini metal lathe. I have been a machinist since 1979 and I assure you I know my machines. I received it as a gift in April 2024. If you're considering purchasing a mini metal lathe let me give you 10 reasons why you should never buy this one. 1. After 3 months of use the circuit board blew and took out the motor with it and company WILL NOT speak to the buyer it took 3 months to get replacement parts. The buyer had to speak with an AMAZON rep who would then speak with someone from the company then back to AMAZON, buyer, me, buyer Amazon, Company etc. 2. The half nuts could not be engaged because to do so pushed the lead screw .080" into the machine. I had to take the tailstock end bearing block off and machine .060" off to make the lead screw even on both ends. 3. I had to or move the cross slide screw housing and machine a .060" step in it so I could slide the apron back which finally allowed the half nuts to engage properly. 4. The tailstock was .075" too far below center and CREWORKS put a .030" shim under the front side of the tailstock so that when you put a drill chuck and drill bit in it would appear to be on center, but when closer to the headstock you'd see the problem. I made shim .075" thk for front and back of tail stock to get it right. 5. Lathe bed has a .040" twist from headstock to tailstock so if you turn something that requires a live center you have to realign the tailstock side to side to turn it straight. 6. Compound swivel flange is too small to be stable. The flange has a max diameter of 1 7/16" it makes the compound move too much so, I made a flange 2 1/4" and it allowed a more stable cut. 7. There is NO PARTS LIST and if something goes out the company WILL NOT SPEAK TO THE BUYER. 8. Drive gears would not mesh properly, they meshed at an angle. I had to remachine a new bracket. 9. Undercarriage clamps would not clamp bed ways properly. I had to make new ones. 10. It is very poorly made and the Company doesn't care enough about you as a customer to address any problems personally. If you really want a really well made mini lathe? Go to GRIZZLY INDUSTRIAL. WHY? Well, I just gave you 10 reasons why. ... show more

  • Worth it
So far so good. Received slightly faster than I expected. Boxed well. Plan for 2 people for unboxing and setting on a bench. Plenty of oil/grease to keep any rust away. Purchased for hobby use cutting / threading. Only frustration is it is missing one of the imperial thread pitch very commonly used, but I can 3d print a few different gears and should be able to get it to work. Made and added a lock so cutting / using the compound stays tight. So far with the little bit more cost for the large through bore.. would be 5 stars if scales were in imperial and was able to cut all imperial threads out of the box. ... show more
