Style: Octopus Compact

Features

  • 90% Plastic, 10% Stainless steel
  • Imported
  • Octopus made in ultra simplified single-hull in ABS + elastomer of really compact size (2.36 in | 6 cm in diameter), extremely light (5.15 oz | 145 g). Its mechanism and development are planned to obtain the minimum number of components and great strength
  • It's a smart shopping option because of its combination of features - reliability - price - maintenance cost. It's suitable for maximum reliability uses and also as a travel regulator due to its lightness.
  • The specific calibration of the inhalation mechanism changes slightly the personality on air output, rewarding an abundant flow without the need to exploit Venturi effect, beyond the exquisite touch and sensitivity of these kinds of regulators.
  • Exhalation effort reduced without the need to minimize the diaphragm thickness. The restraint system design of the diaphragm guides the flow 100% channelled towards the nozzles of the exhaust tee, that helps to guide bubbles far from the visual field.
  • Practically integral purge pusher, bigger between 80 and 400% than any other regulator in the market to facilitate purge manoeuvre, especially to inexperienced divers.
  • Yellow jacketed hose extremely light and flexible weight: 153 gr - 5.4 oz.
  • The Octopus XS-Compact is designed and made in Italy by Cressi, brand pioneer in Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Freediving and Swimming equimpent, since 1946.

    • Works well on my Surface Supplied Air (hookah) dive system
Style: Octopus Xs2
I bought this regulator for my DIY surface supplied air system that I made for underwater pool repairs. It works well and functions well with a 60-70 PSI hose supply from my oil free compressor.

    • Good deal for the price.

If you're simply looking for a reliable Octo, this is it. I haven't tried expensive ones, but after trying this one, I know I don't need to pay more. It does the job.

I just received this octo yesterday and while I know Cressi to be a good, reliable product, the packaging was disappointing. For a product that you use to breathe through while diving AND that is meant to be used in emergency situations, should this be packaged in a box with material so it doesn't shift around? I'm having my local dive shop check it out hefore I use it. ... show more

    • Rated High due to price
Style: Octopus Xs2
I use this for my SNUBA unit. I am sure there is much better, and if I was diving deep or in dangerous environments, I would probably use something else. However, for my application this works fine, and does not cost to much. 60 feet is about as deep as I go.

A little expensive for what you got, however it is a must for scuba divers. Not sure if I would buy it again. I have not tried at scuba yet. Enjoy the photos.

    • Good value, good backup
Style: Octopus Xs2
This is a nice no frills spare/octopus. Last one is 10yrs old & still kicking. Takes some sucking to breath upside down — Yellow can discolor so you’ll probably want to protect from sun / grease.

    • Great Value
Style: Octopus Xs2
Very impressed with the quality and breathability for the price. Cressi got it right with this one. Why spend twice as much on something you're hoping to never use.

    • Really good value for the money.
Style: Octopus Xs2
I just added two of these to two different diving setups, and they seem to be mush better than I expected for the price. They breathe pretty easy and don't tend to freeflow when we jump in.
