I disliked receiving an obviously used item being sent to me after paying full price for it. Weld spatter bonded to the adjustment screw's threads makes adjusting these quite difficult. I opted to go back to Irwin brand. The second thing I disliked about these is their adjustment screw seems to be neither metric nor SAE threads. Without chasing a "possiblly" different thread, I decided to return them. Unlike the Irwin brand, these are not easily collapsed enough to remove the pushbar (link); tapping the threaded handle end requires fighting the spring loading and prevents getting the pushbar out of the tap's way. I love Crescent. They have always been a great company for tools. But.... I just bought two of these clamping locking pliers and one of them was assembled crooked, almost half an inch! Very unimpressive! The jaws don't line up at all. The other pair is perfect. Very unusual for Crescent.

When it comes to tools, there are a few brands that stand above the rest, in my opinion Crescent is one of them. These are some really nice clamps, I’ve got a bunch of them I use for welding. You just can’t have enough. They work every time and can take any abuse you throw at them.

Use these often when I’m prepping material to weld and so far they’ve held up nicely. I’ve been pretty rough on them and have really cinched them down several times. So far, so good.( I gave them 3 stars for Value simply bc I bought mine on PrimeDay and I think the regular price is a little steep.)
