We bought the mermaid kit for our 4 y/o daughter. I felt the play sand was quite messy…the material is more like a kinetic foam-like material. It’s not kinetic sand. It goes everywhere and doesn’t quite stick together as nicely as actual kinetic sand sticks together. So, I got rid of the material that comes in this kit and replaced it with kinetic sand we already have. Love this play kit idea, though! My daughter also loves playing with it!
